Visual disaster effects seemed focused on the American family escapees, and not from other individuals of families from other nations in their attempt to escape disaster. The thunderous sound effects of vehicles and natural disasters are good on my studio wired headphones connected to stereo receiver ;;

Tom Cruise leads a group of men to assassinate Hitler. Even though you know that Hitler committed suicide in real life, the movie makes you wish the outcome was different. Good story and cast. Only problem - everyone uses their own accents.

(br) wrote: Horrendous in nearly every possible way. If you can decipher the impossibly vague direction and script of the film to follow along you'll just find yourself upset at the entirely vacant characters running around without explanation. There's so much missing from this film, it's such a shame. A larger shame because of the wasted story, talent, and effort. Somewhere, in the hand of others, there is a great movie with fascinating characters waiting to be explored.
(au) wrote: the entire first part of this film can be clipped out-it adds nothing to the plot and is irrelevant and boring
(nl) wrote: I first saw this when it cam out 20yrs ago and thought it was really well done. So, I've wanted to re-watch it again for a long while and finally did. The film is quite good, it's an made for TV film for HBO, and it shows, but the acting is excellent and the story compelling. Stephen Rea and Donald Sutherland are both very good in this story of Russia's first acknowledged serial killer. Check it out!

With the order to fire nukes on Russia a further message is cut short, with the two commanding officers disagreeing as to the next course of action. Tense adrenaline packed well acted by fine actors movie that has you gripped all the way.
