Thomas A (mx) wrote: "For Ellen" is a sad story of a father who tries to make up for not being there for his daughter in her early years. The fact that the director is Korean in origin does not surprise me...the emotion contained within the movie is so intense despite the little dialogues available.

September O (br) wrote: It's not like its bad, just extremely disappointing, especially as a series finale to the greatest television show on the planet (The Plan featured less than half the main cast and really didn't feel all that big and profound like the series had)...Sigh....

Bethany M (kr) wrote: Not that bad of a film and you really can't predict the ending at all.

Cliff M (mx) wrote: Billy Elliot shows Bell's potential. He shows more maturity in this role than many actors would love to achieve. It's the music by T.Rex and the Jam which is the icing on the cake.

Cynthia S (es) wrote: The actors here deserve more than three stars, the plot just two. I found this just barely above passable for interesting. This movie is about nothing surrounding some art, mafia ties, a few murders, and a little sex at the working place. None of it extremely memorable.

Ca M (es) wrote: I wanted to give Indian cinema a try, it wasn't bad, just poor quality cameras. The story was decent.

Brandon B (kr) wrote: While I'm thrilled for Maniac Cop that he finally found true love, I am less than impressed with this third entry. The first one had Bruce Campbell and novelty. The second one had strippers and a wacky serial killer sidekick. This one still has Robert Davi as a chain-smoking hero-cop and the best car-chase-featuring-a-guy-completely-on-fire scene ever, but it feels pretty half-baked...Voodoo resurrection my ass!

David N (us) wrote: at first reading the basic info on this i thought a man talking of his experiences in film and in travel may be interesting but not too visually exciting. after having watched the monologue of spaldings gray. i realised that johnathan demme knew exactly how to put the right angle on the piece. with fantasic, ' and i mean that' cinematography, he cuts back on forth when he acts out himself and a nuclear arms operator on a train, with the image cutting back and forth of himself, the use of suttle sounds, music and light colouration also make this a real treat and so much more enjoyable and educational.'For Spalding, 41-04'

Donald W (fr) wrote: This movie was made in the late 1960's and has all the usual Private Eye Story clichs. Frank Sinatra plays a retired cop turned private eye named Tony Rome living in a boat in Miami Beach. It's the same concept that James Gardner used in his TV show The Rockford Files except the typical Rockford Files episode was better than this movie. The movie just follows Frank Sinatra/Tony Rome around the Miami area as he tries to find out who killed his partner. There are some great scenes of the Miami area. You can see what Miami looked like in the 1960's. The movie starts with his ex-partner offering to pay him $100 to take a drunken rich girl home from a cheap hotel. He asks for $200. Today that's not much money but it was in 1967. When he is accused of stealing the rich girl's diamond pin he goes to his ex-partner to see if he took it. Later his partner is found dead in Tony Rome's office. He has to find the killer to clear his name, just like in the Maltese Falcon. In the end the so called scandal that was driving the plot is so tame it wouldn't even be a scandal today. Jill St. John plays the love interest that holds the key to the mystery. The movie is full of one line jokes for Frank Sinatra but the problem is Frank Sinatra isn't funny.

Zoran S (fr) wrote: A great film, Brilliantly stylized and paced, not to mention cynical as hell.

The20 H (de) wrote: Absolutely ridiculous how this movie is at 35% this film is absolutely amazing. It's depth and emotional tone set an intense yet touching atmosphere. Ridiculous how rotten tomatoes gives a movie such as Monkey King 2 100% but a movie such as this gets 35%. Project almanac is amazing.
