(de) wrote: All-Star Superman by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely is regarded as one of the best Superman stories ever. Rightfully so. And, while this animated retelling is pretty good all around, too many of the minor details that made the comic great, are left out. This is quite normal, and the good folks at DC/WB have done their best to adapt it, but ultimately, it's too short, and the many side stories, that worked so well in a 12 issue series, feels too rushed, when given the feature treatment.Viewers unaware of the comic series will probably enjoy it more, however, many of the plot elements might seem a bit random and unexplained. The animation, music and voice acting is as good as normally with DC animated features.

On a side note, the "fastforward" technique used in the fight scenes is exceedingly irritating, as well as the sound effect that comes with the characters' "punches."
