(ru) wrote: A new documentary about Darfur by award-winning filmmaker Paul Freedman, and narrated by George Clooney......covering the frustration felt by African Union troops at their inability to protect Darfurians due the strict restrictions of their mandate; the UN non-intervention because of China and other countries with oil interests in Sudan who veto resolutions for intervention; and the breakdown of the media in reporting on the crisis in Darfur. I watched this with my family and cried. The media covered Martha Stewarts cheating and lying, and Janet Jackson's "breast" incident for hundreds of hours, yet only gives the bare minimum for so many innocent people being slaughtered. I hang my head in shame.

I like low budget movies, I am a great fan of B-movies but this is ridiculous. The effects are so bad you feel ashamed of watching the movie at all. And not just the effects, but along with the bad acting and story the movie seems really weird in a ridiculous way. The thing that bothered me the most was when I saw the effects done with the centaur. Now it seems like I am bitching too much about the effects, it is true that they don't matter if the movie is good, but if someone is making a movie about mythical characters and beings, they should at least do a better job with the special effects, otherwise do some other type of movie. I give this movie 1 star, since I didn't actually watch it till the end.

(de) wrote: Alien 3 is not a perfect film. There is one flaw in the very beginning that could ruin the movie for some, but other than that, it is a very worthy sequel to the previous two films. Why it has so much hate, I'll never understand.
(au) wrote: This is a real as a public relations docudrama gets. Not bad but still not quite good or even great.
(de) wrote: Anna Kendrick lacks any sort of versatility, and is also unbelievably annoying in this film. Craig Robinson, while usually very funny, was sort of just telling the same joke over and over. I guess it could be OK as a time waster if you're an Anna Kendrick fan (which must be miserable), but besides that, this really had no redeeming qualities.
