(ru) wrote: Kinda slow paced, which is part of the reason the thing is three hours long. Then again, they did manage to fit three whole volumes into this movie, so I guess it's expected. The one thing I really enjoyed in this film was Yuki Nagato's theme, which was "Trois Gymnopedies" by Erik Satie.

However, one cannot but help wonder who the movie is poking a finger at; those with the bad hair or those who would criticize them for it?

(us) wrote: This comedy-drama with an all-star cast wasn't as good as I'd hoped it be. Considering the talent involved, I thought it's be a lot better. I did like Walter Matthau, Michael Caine and Maggie Smith though. Smith plays an actress attending the Oscars as a nominee, and in a funny twist, she Won an in Oscar in real-life for the role. Check it out only if you're a big fan of any of the cast, which also includes, Richard Pryor, Jane Fonda and Alan Alda.

(de) wrote: Gregory Peck's character is the least offensive lying, cheating thief, out of a group of misfits, so he gets the girl. There are some things to like in the movie especially the first reel where the gang is dying of thirst and literally crawls through the desert into a ghost town. Once their base needs of food and water are met, the greed and lust takes over. The plot is filled with holes, the story meanders and at moments it looks like its trying to be a Western epic. It all turns out ok in the end.

The plot, cast, the score, and the choreography of the battle scenes were really good. This medieval drama is a undoubtedly a favorite as I enjoyed every minute of it.

(kr) wrote: Where do I begin? Is this the end of their careers, nope! This is so far from that it's not even funny. I laughed my ass off during my viewing of this film, but I do feel like something was missing once the second act of the film took off. The set-up is genius and the conclusion is absolutely comedic gold, but the jokes focussed mainly on penis gags in order to get to the end of the picture. There are fantastic cameos throughout the film, the cast is perfect just doing what they love to do as themselves, and the "script" is pretty well written, and when I say script I mean that the improve was breathtaking. I have seen better films from this cast in the past, in fact I think this is one of the weaker attempts, yet still one of the cleverest if that makes sense. In the end, "This is the End" let me down a bit, but I still had a great time watching it!
