Michael C (nl) wrote: One doesn't need to be a stoner to find merit in this film. Captured my interest from start to finish. Explains why there are people walking the streets with signs predicting "The End".

James M (de) wrote: While the 2010 remake can be classed as "so bad, it's good", this sequel is just plain bad. Really, really bad.The formula is much the same, but the characters are so boring it's almost impossible to care if any of them live or die.Over-the-top and tacky special effects were expected but there's no comedy in this like in the previous film, scraping the bottom of the barrel by featuring a cameo by David Hasselhoff as his Baywatch character.

Jay B (de) wrote: I must say, without Larry David as its Lead.... Whatever Works would be a complete mess. Fans of David will find his usual, neurotic, humor satisfying enough, but this film's plot is all of the place. I repeat, do not watch this movie expecting a great story, because there isn't one. If you can appreciate a little character driven humor though, give it a go.

Jessica M (jp) wrote: it was funny but i expected much more..good message to the world! it's an environmental film ;)btw Alexander Skarsgard (Eric from True Blood) is in it xD always nice to see him innit? even when he plays a gay guy.. *g*

Elliot R (gb) wrote: Best movie EVAR. But seriously, it was terrible. I still stayed up until 4 AM to see it, so...I give it 4 stars.

Jason G (us) wrote: What can I say?? Not as bad as many here have made it out to be. The only reason I even saw this film (...that I had previously never heard of before), was strictly to watch IAN McSHANE.I was not disappointed in the least. IAN McSHANE was absolutely brilliant and brings an amazing subtlety to his role. He's always great to watch and for my money... an extremely underused actor. As for the rest of the film.... Every other actor in the movie delivered strong, solid performances. These people certainly weren't being paid huge amounts of cash for their participation (as this was a fairly low budget film) but this did not mean that any of them "mailed" their appearances in. Everyone was convincing and compelling with the parts given to them.I was even pleasantly surprised at ADRIAN PAUL's performance (though I must admit I have only ever seen him in the HIGHLANDER Television series before this movie). The plot was well paced and the storyline intriguing... and much like real life, not everything finishes up, tied up in a "nice neat little package" for you at the end of the film. Anybody who expects a clear-cut, by-the-numbers, connect the dots "conclusion" or "answer" at the end of the movie... CLEARLY isn't watching the film closely enough! This film is not going to tell you what the "meaning of life" is! The idea is that after watching the film, you might go and discuss the unanswered questions with your friends over a coffee. No car chases... No explosions... No bar room brawls.... (sounds pretty dull, huh?) But the reality is that I was completely absorbed by the film and it's just a well written little piece with an interesting hook and solid character performances by all parties involved.****** WARNING...****** If you're the kind of person who dislikes movies that dangle an enormous "question" as the central engine of the story and then end the movie without answering that particular question directly...YOU MIGHT NOT ENJOY THIS FILM.

Ritchie G (de) wrote: More than worthy to be inducted into Hong Kong Top 100 Legendary Films. A delightful array of stars with Brigitte at her most reverent, Ka Fai with his gentleman scholar and of course, Maggie Cheung embodying the meaning of Flirt. And to think that Ip Man was so awesome as the evil eunuch with the most spectacular ending.

Matty S (it) wrote: Surrealistic adaptation of Nabokov's is both experimental and oddly poised. From a highly cerebral Stoppard script, Fassbinder propels his film forward using the unsettling staging of his actors and the lushly beautiful work of cinematographer, Michael Ballhaus. The cinematic metaphor is rather clunky, but effective. As the Nazis assume power over Germany a successful chocolate maker begins to slip into existential delusions and the film slips into a mix of psychodrama and film noir. Somehow this experiment works. Dirk Bogarde is especially effective in the lead role. I had read a great deal about this film over the years and agree that DESPAIR was a departure for Fassbinder, but it is firmly rooted in what I would call Fassbinderian Language.

Mads D (ag) wrote: En fantastisk humoristisk western med Bud Spencer og Terrance Hill! Dialogerne er sjove, situationerne skve og den afgrende "slskamp" er klassisk! Rigtig god underholdning!

Juli N (it) wrote: I'm shocked and mortified to learn this film actually won Best Foreign Language film in 1975!

jay n (es) wrote: Bing and Fred are well matched in this ultra colorful musical that for something so bright and supposedly cheery touches on some very dark themes, divorce, alcoholism etc., although rather glancingly. Still Fred has some great dancing performances, the one where he is performing with a chorus line make up completely of mirror images of himself is particularly impressive. His voice and Bing's meld together very well and since the music is by Irving Berlin it makes for a very enjoyable experience indeed.

John A (ag) wrote: One of the very best films ever made. A gangster film masterpiece.

Cedric L (au) wrote: Good animation with fun voice performances.

Kameron W (ag) wrote: Jason Sudekis and Alison Brie are a nice pairing for this rom-com but it's not enough to lift it past it's extremely clichd narrative.

Darren P (it) wrote: A pretty harmless horror tale.

Mark P (es) wrote: Not the type of film someone in my demographic would thoroughly enjoy, but I mildly enjoyed it's mildly amusing scenes.
