The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption

Since his triumphant rise to power in the original blockbuster "The Scorpion King", Mathayus' kingdom has fallen and he's lost his queen to plague. Now an assassin for hire, he must defend a kingdom from an evil tyrant and his ghost warriors for the chance to regain the power and glory he once knew. Starring Ron Perlman ("Hellboy") and Billy Zane ("Titanic"), and featuring 6-time WWE champion Dave Bautista and UFC star Kimbo Slice, "The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption" takes "The Mummy" phenomenon to an all-new level of epic action and non-stop adventure.

Mathayus's sorceress-queen is killed by a pest which ravaged his kingdom until it fell. Feeling guilty and a failure, the Akkadian resumed the life of mercenary. He's hired by Horus, king of the now dominant Near eastern kingdom, to help out defend the palace of Hindu king Ramusan, guardian of the Book of the Death, the last ally barring the bid for Hrus's throne by his rogue brother Talus, whose raids in the Far East yielded the largest army ever. Mathuyas is instructed to team up with simpleton Teutonic giant Olaf. Ramusan can't pay them the promised gold, but offers the hand of his daughter Silda, whose portrait shows a priceless medallion. Their fight is complicated by the mysterious Cobra, hired by Talus, who captured the princess, so they pair pretends to enter Talus's service, but finds out about an even more devious deception, while Talus captures the book and thus is able to conjure the warrior ghosts. . Mike B (fr) wrote: Zero-point-five stars of five. ALPHA DOG. Impossibly bad. I cannot fathom how this was even made. The dialogue is laughable. There is no way to watch the whole thing, because your IQ will drop so fast you'll forget you're even human. By the end, you might not be.*You'll be laying on the ground, gibbering and shrieking in a mixed puddle of involuntarily excreted and projected bodily fluids, wondering if there is any meaning to your existence. It must be for something better than this. Please, please, for the sake of your children, do not watch this thing. P.S. -- In case it wasn't clear, I'm not a fan of this film.

Paavo I (de) wrote: It's like a movie about finding yourself backwards. I missed the ending, and regret it greatly.

Carlos F (jp) wrote: One of my favorite films. A excellent character study. An exploration into what lurks inside the human mind and, as a result, human behavior.

Norman G (ru) wrote: Incredible samurai attack scene in the snow. An oldie-but-goodie. If you like samurai, and have the patience to wait for the action, this movie will blow you away!

Randy T (ag) wrote: One of the first films to address the injustice of the WWII internment camps for Japanese Americans. Poorly named Hell To Eternity is a Hollywoodized version of the true story of Guy Gabaldon, a Hispanic boy who was adopted and raised by a Japanese family during the Great Depression. Gabaldon served as an interpreter in the U.S. Marine Corps, ultimately saving many American lives. This film struggles to find it's identity. It seems as though it can't decide whether it wants to be a socio-political drama or an action-packed war picture. The two concepts never effectively merge. They just seem stacked, one on top of the other. The result is a film that sometimes flows, sometimes flounders.

Adrian B (fr) wrote: Four astronauts for unknown reasons head to outer space and discover some bizarre actions. In front of there eyes, these laser beams appear in space and hit the space station, disintigrating it. Then they are under attack and immediate get out of there, narrowly avoiding them and landing on Venus, in which they amazingly can breath on. Massive plot holes galore, embarrassing errors (such as when they are in space and through the window, there is blue sky!) and silly dialogue accompanied by a funny score, but this film slightly succeeds. It has unusual special, intriguing effects and there is appearance of a small, flat screen television in the queen's room (by the way, she is not played by Zsa Zsa Gabor and happens to be hiding behind a mask, for very good reason to). Also, there are some laughs, perhaps unintentional. Passable, but still, a "Forbidden Planet" wannabe.

David P (de) wrote: I really enjoyed this candid and very human film. Will Farrell needs more roles like this one.

Mark S (gb) wrote: "Johnny English Reborn" takes itself a bit more seriously than its predecessor, but the sense of humor still seems like this movie is targeting eight-year-old children. The jokes do get better as the movie progresses, but never to the point of making this a must-watch comedy. Watchable, but not even close to "Blackadder" for showcasing the comic skills of Rowan Atkinson.

Logan M (br) wrote: Mickey Rourke believably portrays a down-and-out professional wrestler in this astounding and bleak redemption story that's anything but generic.

Jelena B (au) wrote: Great undemanding movie
