John S (ru) wrote: Very bad movie. Special effects suck!

Lee M (es) wrote: A solid, character-based drama that speaks to the disappointments of middle age and mortality in general, Collaborator doesn't let anyone off the hook -- not even the viewer.

Pol M (nl) wrote: Trist, curis, freak, interessant... I molt maco. Un prodigi la histra d'aquest paio. 8/10

Josh A (jp) wrote: Pontypool is completely different than the average zombie movie. This movie has a completely different take on zombies and on how the infection starts to how you can get infected and it is really unique. The first half of the movie is great at building up tension because the whole movie takes place inside the radio station and you know that there are attacks and people going crazy outside of the station but you don't actually get to see anything of what is happening until the second half of the movie and the film paces itself really well to keep you interested and engrossed in the movie on what you hear is happening until you actually see it. This movie has some great acting, a great, claustrophobic atmosphere and great effects. This is a great zombie movie which I recommend to any zombie movie lover.

Grant H (it) wrote: Meh. Not very good. Wilson gives it his all, it just isn't a movie he can carry on his own, with a poor script and poor story.

Jamil K (br) wrote: Pas la hauteur du standard qu'il a lui-mme fix, le genre de Romero s'essoufle dans ce film pnible.

David M (jp) wrote: Further proof (if proof were needed) that basing a movie on a series of computer games isn't always a good idea!Having said that, however, there probably is a bit more reason than most for this one: the original games themselves were actually pretty plot-driven, very much like being the star of a movie in your own right. It's just a pity that that doesn't transfer to this film, and that the Kilrathi look ridiculous rather than effective!

Alex K (br) wrote: This Film Got A ''Two Thumbs Down'' On Siskel & Ebert.

Joel A (gb) wrote: Oliver Stone truly is one of greatest American Filmmakers around & this film shows his skill behind camera & the talent of Tom Cruise under terrific direction. The story of idealistic all American boy who goes & joins the war effort & becomes paralyzed in combat & struggles to adjust back into society & becomes quickly disillusioned. The story is told so well & the story has such impact. Very audacious & bold for it's day. A powerhouse of acting & directing, a sensational film.

From Riggs' hair to his question of Murtaugh "What are you, a fag?" this film is showing its age. I always had a bit of trouble with Mel Gibson's portrayal of someone allegedly suffering from mental health issues. He came across as unconvincing to me. This time around, I'm feeling it a bit more. "Hate him back, it works for me" is a response I'm familiar with. Gary Busey's contribution as the villain Joshua cannot be understated. He completes this film.

Sam S (nl) wrote: Superman 2's exhilarating action sequences, love story, and excellent performance by Christopher Reeve make for what super hero movies should be. Fun.

Film C (kr) wrote: This movie has an incredible jazz-synth score from Gil Melle, legendary saxophonist jazzman and inventor of several electronic instruments. The film takes us back to the more relaxed era of the late 1970's and the cinematography is done in a welcome, easy-on-the-eyes style which is contrary to today's hyperactive CGI. The rose-tinted camera lenses used hearken us back to long, lazy beach summers. The story has suspense and the acting is fine. Burt Young is a standout and the two leads, the late David Huffman andthe pretty Mariana Hill, are believable as ex-lovers reunited over the case of Hill's character's mother's strange disappearance. If you appreciate a good retro-horror movie and unique instrumental soundtracks, you won't be disappointed. Five stars for its overall style and decent storyline.
