Johnny T (ru) wrote: Filmmakers Enzo Tedeschi and Julian Harvey have clearly taken to heart the techniques of scare-meister Alfred Hitchcock and let the audience do the horror work for them in this audacious debut. It's not what you see - it's what you imagine that scares us in The Tunnel. The audience is teased with fleeting glimpses of the threat lurking in the shadows and its first real appearance is played so well it is a thing of horror poetry. The Tunnel has its minor flaws, some distractingly fake-looking blood, for one, but this is only nit-picking. The film's tension is beautifully built from the beginning where the background to the story is quickly established in an unnamed TV station, and includes some interpersonal material that adds texture to the screenplay. The excellent acting performances really sell the raw fear and creeping insanity as the news crew fumbles through the pitch black tunnels. Not a bad effort for a mini-budgeted fan-funded horror project. If movies such as Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity do it for you, The Tunnel is one not to be missed. VERDICT: "In The Zone" - [Mixed Reaction] These kinds of movies are usually movies that had some good things, but some bad things kept it from being amazing. This rating says buy an ex-rental or a cheap price of the DVD to own. If you consider cinema, ask for people's opinion on the film. (Films that are rated 2.5 or 3 stars)

Have you ever sat in a movie theater and watched a movie, but afterwards you felt like maybe you didn't just sit in a movie theater and watch a movie? Like the entire last hour and 40 minutes was just a messy blur with no direction, the same way you might recall the events of a dream you just had. You know there were random actors and some kind of premise, but it was all jumbled and didn't really make a whole lot of sense. Scientists refer to this phenomenon as the 'In The Land of Women' experience.
