The Story of David
Filmed in Israel and Spain, the four-hour made-for-TV movie "The Story of David" stars Timothy Bottoms as the Biblical king. The "David and Goliath" legend is presented as credibly as possible, while David's later disastrous romance with Bathsheba (Jane Seymour) is handled with taste and decorum. Also in the cast are Anthony Quayle as King Saul, and Terence Hardiman as Bathsheba's unfortunate warrior husband Uriah.

Mitchum holds gun against Monroe, making her and her son take him across dangerous river, during which time they begin to fall in love (what else?). It's interesting to see these stars together, and the scenery is often breathtaking . . . but it only makes you wish script were better (the dialogue is often unintentionally funny).

A womans' movie where the men are not dopes--Does she go for the strong and cruel one, or the weak and adoring one? Animal instinct always urges the former, on the premise that it is a better breeding prospect for the species that the strong, however cruel, should procreate... A Wonderful, complex and engrossing character study with tremendous performances, writing, music and directing!!

The dinosaurs look good, and the CGI is decent though it doesn't blend well with the background. There's some silly bits and crazy angles, but in all, it's a stomping fun dinosaur film.
