The Swell Season

The world fell in love with Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová when their songwriting collaboration in the film Once (2006) culminated in a jubilant Oscar win. But behind the scenes, where Glen and Mar's on-screen romance became reality, a grueling two-year world tour threatens to fracture their fated bond. Filmed in black and white, this music-filled documentary is an intimate look at the exhilaration and turmoil created by both love and fame.

Justin B (it) wrote: The way in which the narrative unfolds will either make or break the film for you. It's hard to figure out if it's brilliant or deceptively stupid. The film also lacks a truly satisfying climax and the film more or less just sort of plateaus towards the end. However, though flawed, Oculus delivers one of the most terrifying horror experiences of the decade, plunging the audience into a literal nightmare where rules don't apply and nothing is what it seems.

Braydan H (us) wrote: The Way He Looks is fantastic! There is so much chemistry between the characters and the script is raw and vulnerable.

Luis R (es) wrote: this was very bad, I feel sorry but there s not one single thing that I can save from this movie, nothing made remotely sense, not in fun way. all the characters were beyond hideous, cant find a word for describe the make up. just dont watch it

Kyle M (ru) wrote: Provides almost the same comical nature as "The Emperor's New Groove" in the Wild West with its own standards while expressing some amount of heart and benefitting from its voice cast, which adds up to the usual animated recipe that Disney uses. Well those are the assets that makes this enjoyable and likable, with some fun, but it's not inviting a lot of the usual Disney animation viewership because of the kids-size silly nature. Grant S (it) wrote: Chris Flynn is driving through the backwoods of West Virginia on the way to an interview when he has an accident with a group of five friends, writing off his car. Their car is also damaged, so four of them set off to find help, leaving two behind to watch the cars. One by one they get picked off by a bunch of mutated inbred hillbillies. One of the better inbred-hillbilly horror-thrillers (not that this says too much). While the whole hillbilly-horror genre is incredibly formulaic, unoriginal and predictable (as is the horror genre in general), this has some degree of originality. Yes, there is a large degree of sticking to a formula but it does take turns you don't expect and is not that predictable - it does keep you in suspense, at least. One other indication that this is better than your average horror movie is the cast. Horror movies generally involve no-name actors/actresses that never amount to anything. Cheap B-grade movies are the furthest they'll get. Wrong Turn has three actors - Eliza Dushku, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Desmond Harrington - who went on to bigger and better things. Performances are decent (another turn up for the horror books), especially from those three.Certainly the best of the Wrong Turn movies. Since this movie there have been five more (and counting...) and all of them have been incredibly bad. Pretty much the same plot, over and over, and pretty much your standard hillbilly-horror stuff. They should have quit after one.

Bengel W (kr) wrote: Normally Jean is in second rate B movies that are just awful however, this one is very watchable. Reasonable script and action that is believable makes this one a rare treat. Even the acting qualities as well as the fights give this story a realistic feel ensuring a smooth flow. Nibbles: Hot Chocolate, pain aux raisins.

Jon P (nl) wrote: Loaded with futile fight scenes, abysmal acting and a headache of a soundtrack, Amir Shervan's buddy cop movie stretches bad taste to breaking point.A must-see for fans of so-bad-it's-good cinema, the film plays like an inept exercise in inconsistency. Sets and actors' surroundings miraculously change mid-punch-up, close-ups are shot of characters clearly not present within scenes, and every single frame appears to differ in lighting and saturation from the last.Amidst a script of genuine nonsense and shots of Matt Hannon and Robert Z'Dar looking lost, the whole film is jam-packed with low-budget laughs. An absolute shambles from start to finish.
