It examines horror pictures from the 1960s(NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD) & the 1970s(LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, SHIVERS, HALLOWEEN, & DAWN OF THE DEAD) and how they reflected the types of true horror that was going on in those periods. Features some great interviews with: John Landis, Tom Savini, Wes Craven, Tobe Hooper, David Cronenberg, John Carpenter, George A. Romero, and some writers and professors. Though, for some strange reason, I still CANNOT figure out why there is a black strap-on dildo hanging up in Carpenter??s house! See it.
Nostalgia C (de) wrote: Culkin seemed like the perfect kid at the time to show us the subject matter I'm sure would have went really well today: how the one percent live. Brought to you by the ingenius visionary director of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Richie Rich brings to the big screen a story nobody demanded to see, an actor clearly going through puberty, based on a comic strip younger kids have never heard of. With those credentals, how could you not green light this? It's not the worst Culkin film or anything, it's got a few memorable moments and one or two funny lines. But the main character is so bland and the story itself is so phoned in, it's pretty hard to get invested. If you want to get rich in life, start saving your money by not buying this piece of crap!

No one else knows of their existence until they escape and the assistant security guard has to chase them down through town. The hobgoblins have magic powers which allow people in their control to live their fantasies, but with terrible outcomes. Overall bad direction; a couple of funny lines, nothing scary. Only worth watching for Gremlins-rip-off completists; MST3K-version is a must-see!
