Corlene D (ru) wrote: This movie is not watched with sympathy; it is watched with empathy. It was not obvious why I liked this movie so much. Two of my favourite actors play the leads, but it is because of all the strong emotions portrayed; not one second of this movie is blas. Every scene rips at your heart in some way. We have all known shame... passion... longing... hate. We all know what we would give, what price we would pay, to correct that one mistake... futile wishing. I felt with the characters and deeply so.

Dan S (au) wrote: A touching, moving, deeply personal story of an immigrant Irish family who moves to America searching for happiness and a fresh start despite living in horrible circumstances. Instead of drifting into weepy melodrama where everything horrible that could happen happens, director Jim Sheridan gives this movie such a touch of warmth that it feels more like a surrealistic fairy tale rather than an edgy drama. The results are spectacular, and the acting could not be better, from the stupendous real-life Bolger sisters to the regular powerhouse performance Djimon Hounsou always seems to bring rather effortlessly. A remarkable picture, a positive one, with a tear-jerking finale that does not feel overdone. A movie that I will definitely want to rewatch through the years.

Russell S (kr) wrote: Fun to watch but not a patch on Connery's early Bonds. Far too comedic and silly for it's own good and undoubtedly one of the ugliest movies in the series. Connery looks for all the world like a passenger waiting to get off the whole way through. It does have it's moments though - Mr Wint and Mr Kidd are an oddly welcome distraction each time they appear (they represent the best of the silliness) but the movie as a whole just seems a bit rushed and pedestrian.

Alex A (fr) wrote: First and foremost, Meet the Parents is one of my favorite comedies of all time. I remember being disappointed with its sequel, and knowing that the third installment would be worse, I held it off for years. Boy, was I right. Little Fockers isn't horrendously bad, but it's not good. Whereas the original was slightly more realistic, low key and relatable, this was merely a juvenile, slapstick mess with immature sex jokes and tired gags. The mixture of children and senior citizens within a frequently perverted "comedy" made this not only stupid, but uncomfortably weird too.
Mary R (gb) wrote: Micheal Sheen makes this movie watchable. The movie sucks other than the appearance of some other well known actors. Regardless I clicked on it for Sheen. It moves so slowly that I only made it through the first half hour and I love kids movies. oh well! At least it is better than "zoo Keeper" ! Now that was a terrible movie!
