Niko Mastorakis writes, produces, and directs this wild weekend. Does contain a good joke about Howard the Duck and Ishtar and can probably be considered a bit better than Screen Test, which had a somewhat similar plot.

Jake A (au) wrote: This well cast horror slasher film has good action, some suspense, well made score, a serviceable script and the right amount of gore.
Anthony I (nl) wrote: Really funny, really creative for it's time and in it's own way, really heartwarming. It really reminded me of "The Graduate", with the strange male protagonist, a love affair with an age difference and songs by a popular artist of the time. It's not as good, but it did something that "The Graduate" didn't, which was doubling over with laughter. It gets it's humor through how subtle the dark humor is. No movie today would get away with suicide jokes, but this movie does, because of how carefree it goes about it. It's suicide slapstick, which to be fair, shouldn't exist as it's own genre. I believed in the romance, despite seeming so taboo. It 's a cult hit, but I think it would be a massive hit today, because audiences are more open to unorthodox romances. Perhaps we aren't desensitized by free love, perhaps we're just smarter about it. If you're grossed out by Harold and Maude, you aren't thinking right.

Doug C (au) wrote: A classic suspense noir about an out-of-control detective played by Dana Andrews, who accidentally kills a robbery suspect while trying to get some information out of him, then falls in love with the man's widow played by Gene Tierney. Great writing by Ben Hecht and direction by Otto Preminger. Andrews plays one of the classic examples of the noir hero plagued by self-doubt amidst a decadent society, whose path to redemption creates the central focus of the suspense, a theme well-supported by the visual style of this film.

Dave J (ru) wrote: Friday, January 6, 2012 (2004) Shallow Ground HORROR Watching this film is like reading an original Stephen King novel which starts off with a young naked boy fully drenched in blood walking directly to a small police station somewhere in the neck of the woods without saying a single word, creating some very bad vibes at the same time with much of the film dwelling on this notion about who and what he is and where he comes from! Strange, innovative and original which is nothing like what anyone has seen before. Had this film gotten a bigger budget, who knows how much better this film might've become. 3 out of 4
