Nick W (nl) wrote: Love this movie. I remember when this came out I was the target audience and I loved the dialogue and personalities of the kids (and still do). They captured what kids are really like (in a PG way) and didn't force feed them any stupid lines or phrases. The Bowers charactor is hilarious and likeble for borth kids and adults. The soundtrack is also amazing. I also liked that it steered away from the "norm", and by that I mean it didn't have a storybook, predictable ending. The team doesn't even make the playoffs, they used REAL MLB players (which I thought was very cool back then). My only critique is that the last 20 minutes or so is a little to emotional and drags just a little bit.

Thger R (jp) wrote: The title and plot outline promised something that could be a camp classic. But it really isn't. There's a few mildly amusing ideas in there, and incredible amounts of filler footage and a story that really should only have been a short film.

Daniel F (au) wrote: Lethal gave me a nostalgia trip, despite never having seen it. This was a movie that would be strictly off-limits to me as a child, but the style and feel of the film is reminiscent of the action movies my friends and I loved before our tenth birthdays. Glover and Gibson both submit wonderful performances, especially Gibson, who plays a complete maniac with a convincingness that was probably more revealing than people realized at the time. His mythical heroism here is fun because it's convincing - the insanity aspect covers for some more farfetched parts of his character. Having to see Gary Busey was the only real negative of this film, together with the idiotic final fight scene.
