It doesn't need SFX to deliver its punch. A wonderful reminder of SF thrillers & intelligent disaster flicks the likes of which aren't seen anymore. I'll take this over robots whirling so fast they make ones eyes bleed.

When I was waiting to watch it for the first time, I checked some reviews online...the ones I ran across, while not outright dismissing it, didn't glow about it either. Still, I followed through, and I'm glad I did. One thing that is distracting, in my opinion, is the 'background' scenery - still, the action and story takes place in front of that same scenery, so it's not hard to ignore it.

The script was nothing overwhelming, but it bore some good messages regarding innocence and sin and how they relate to one's character. I appreciated how the film featured just one long flashback rather than multiple ones splitting the movie up. Daniel Craig isn't one of my favourite performers but he wasn't too bad in this movie. The rest of the cast was satisfactory, but I thought that Jodhi May's performance was pretty damn good. The dialogue was a bit plain, none of the lines really stood out to me. Overall I'd say it's nothing special but it's not complete rubbish.
