The Unpolished

The Unpolished

Stevie, a precocious 14-year-old girl must cope with the instabilities of her immoderate parents. When they decide to move to a small provincial town in Germany, Stevie attempts to slip into a normal life. Whilst her parents playfully escape their responsibilities, Stevie tries to make a good impression in town, spreading stories of grandeur and claiming to be the daughter of a diplomat. She makes progress. Yet the good weather doesn’t last and before long, she discovers that her parents have once more resorted to illegal means, as a way of supporting their leisurely lifestyle. As friends and hangers-on of her parents fill their new home, the chaos continually mounts. It is in this atmosphere of physical and emotional destruction, that Stevie must now start to define herself and perhaps even break free.

The Unpolished torrent reviews

Tareq J (jp) wrote: according to other french movies this is one of the best not because it has a great plot but because it contains all of elements that make a good movie... it has a marvelous music.. some great performances and although it's 2hrs n 30 min it wasn't boring at all, it has a good sense of humor and a fine emotional effects... to me, this is a fine movie

Max S (nl) wrote: A little dry, but very interesting.

Evelyn M (mx) wrote: Self indulgent drivel, poorly written, poorly acted. Not sure why I watched this movie.

David J (ru) wrote: pretty interesting ideas and scenarios in this faux documentary about the mail order bride industry and about relationships and gender roles in general.however the movie can't decide if it wants to be a comedy, a drama or just a list of moral conundrums so it tries to straddle too much and get's it's junk caught in the process....i would be interested to see more from these guys...

Tim G (fr) wrote: Plot: On her deathbed, a mother makes her son promise never to get married, which scars him with psychological blocks to a commitment with his girlfriend. James Caan plays a romantic gangster in this film, totally unlike the madman, 'Sonny' he played in "The Godfather". This is a funny movie.

Tony P (it) wrote: New York set gangster thriller with a top notch cast for a smallish budget. The director Abel Ferrara who I remember for Driller Killer tells the story of the late eighties drug wars. The main star is Christopher Walken who plays drug lord Frank White recently released from a long stretch in prison and aiming to take back the self proclaimed title as King Of New York.White displays some socialist/Robin Hood style tendencies donating some of his criminal money to a hospital building charity in South Bronx and basically throwing money towards muggers on the New York Subway. The film boasts a soundtrack more akin to Puff Daddy. The cops are shown as putting their lives on the line for a salary of peanuts whilst the gangsters they police earn and flash millions. With a higher budget and major studio backing the film could perhaps have been more polished.

Kenya A (us) wrote: This is one of those cult classics that if you are an avid Madonna fan you have seen at least twice. I probably have seen it about 50 times in my life, and it never really gets old for me. It's 80's to the max and no one in this movie would win and oscar for their acting skills. But, I think it's not supposed be one of those kinds of movies. It's just fun, no more, no less. I also happen to love Madonna in this movie, her style, her attitude, the works. The plot is totally unoriginal, I mean really, amnesia...how over played is that! But I would still watch again for the 51st time. It's just a cute movie.

Miguel A (ru) wrote: Se a maioria dos filmes com a Gena Rowlands nos deixam apaixonados por ela, este para lhe pedir em casamento.

Sullivan L (it) wrote: The movie runs a bit long, but really has a charm of its own. The point of view on Paris and its roofs is lovelly. The two lead easily generate empathy despite the absence of words (this a a silent movie). Some increbibly modern imagery: the war, the very famous vertival travelling.

Taylor G (gb) wrote: It wasn't "this is a horrible thing to have happened to her," but "an adult woman who engages in sexual activity should be publicly exposed and shamed."

Drew S (de) wrote: oh boy... if you love dogs. and you want to ruin your fucking day.... watch this movie.depressing isn't even the right word.

Humberto F (es) wrote: Excellent follow-up to Dirty Harry has a strong cast and an interesting story that measures up thematically to the original. Holbrook is memorable as Harry's bureaucratic and eventual criminal nemesis. Ted Post's direction is pretty solid with good use of the San Fransisco locations. The story by Milius and Cimmino adds some layers to the Harry character that keeps him compelling. Its a shame the next sequel lacks so much of what this one has.

Vlady S (us) wrote: such a good movie. So entertaining and funny. But the best pat is there's so much truth to this movie. It opened my eyes about the severe damage we're blindly causing to the earth.
