Josh A (it) wrote: I'm not sure which is more terrifying: the subject matter itself or the government's complete lack of transparency, but, either way, it's a chilling documentary, and Gibney does a good job with what information he is able to uncover. It makes it all the more frightening to think that he may just be scratching the surface here.

Donnie H (es) wrote: When I seen this film, the main thing on my mind was how this movie is to Star Trek, as Space Balls is to Star Wars. The big difference being that Galaxy Quest is filled with energy, has a better cast, good music, and much better humor.; while Space Balls lacked energy, good music, and good humor, and instead made lame references and ridiculously stupid gags (like giving Yoda the name "Yogurt", and giving Chewbacca the name "Barf") rather than actually making jokes based on the subject matter. Basically, Galaxy Quest succeeds on everything which Space Balls fails. Galaxy Quest also has surprisingly decent special effects (and fantastic ones in terms of most parody films). I also really love the cast of this movie; my favorite actor in it is Alan Rickman. Overall, even if you aren't a Star Trek fan (neither am I), you should be able to enjoy the great writing, funny jokes, great cast, good effects, and good music. This is one of my personal favorite parody films.
Tim W (es) wrote: Terribly clichd, generic, and rips off dozens of other other sci-fi's and horrors. Preposterous and twisted with cheezy sound effects and bad CGI, yet, effectively disturbing (but not scary at all, in fact, laughably bad in places). The tone was all over the place. A terrible A movie, a decent B movie, and a stupid cult following who take it personally when people diss this movie (idiots). I didn't hate this movie, I've seen it more than once, but I wouldn't spend money on it.
Daniel D (jp) wrote: This is a fun film, although Cameron has done better (Aliens and Terminator 2 easily top this one). It's very enjoyable and combines explosive action with humorous moments. You can tell why Curtis was the perfect choice for the Mrs. Tasker role, she looks silly as Mr. Tasker's (Schwarzenegger) wife, while Arnold clearly looks ill-fitted in the role of a computer salesman. Again, not Cameron's best moment, but a very fun action-packed film.

Lora B (fr) wrote: Ok, so my JohnCandyAthon hit a bump with this one. Not the best I must say. Actually quite stupid. Good movie to watch if you are doing something else and really only want noise on in the background.
