It's a beautiful story of overcoming the parts of us that deep down we all dislike, but always seems to stay with us.

(it) wrote: This movie sucked booty. Horrible script ,subpar acting, and very few funny moments. Only thing keeping this movie from being a total dud was the chemistry between Gross and Ferrera. The cast is awesome but the writing and editing sucks. This movie shows you that no matter how good a cast is, if the script sucks, then the movie will probably suck.

Step hip hop dance, crnci u glavnim ulogama, natjecanje zbog novaca (naravno) i na kraju dramaticno happy end finale. Mislila sam da ce mi se malo vise svidjeti, ali eto... nista od toga.

(jp) wrote: this movie is of interest because it's antonioni's first full length film. you can see the ties to neo-realism, the documentary format, and the development of his technique. lucia bose is fascinating to watch because of the methods antonioni used to get desired effects. because of her youth and inexperience, he even resorted to slapping her to obtain the desired results.

(us) wrote: The acting was good. Hank Azaria's Gargamel was a very enjoyable performance. The CGI wasn't too bad; the smurfs don't look realistic, but I don't think we would want them to. The movie definitely got some things right. But the plot is dumb and makes little sense, and after the trailers I was already sick of the joke about "smurf" being a euphemism for practically anything. They must have made that joke about a hundred times in the span of the film's fortunately fairly short running time of 103 minutes. The Smurfs is satisfactory entertainment if you're a child or don't mind movies of "all right" quality. But my biggest issue with this movie is in the form of a few questions. Why was this film made? Who thought this was such a great idea?
