I really admired Dujardin's dedicated performance and the direction for all the sets and cinematography and camerawork really show Michel Hazanavicius' love for movies of the era that this one takes place. You may not laugh at all the jokes and the fact that it's french may turn off some viewers, but it will no doubt keep you entertained all the way through and you would want to see what happens at the end. An enjoyable film.

Collin P (us) wrote: Tells a great, true story with respect to the real story while having great acting, suspense, and emotional moments.
Anna N (ag) wrote: the best polish comedy ever made. i could watch it all day long. however, i think it wouldn't be funny to somebody who haven't live in poland for at least one year, as it's a story of a depressed man shown through the aspects of polish nonsense. brilliant!
Paul T (us) wrote: Yet another movie where the audience response seems to be drastically different from the "critic" response. I've always thought this movie was way underrated. One of my favorites from my childhood. I queue it up every now and then when I'm feeling nostalgic but it's a movie that I still genuinely enjoy. Every scene is a classic scene in my opinion. (most notably, for me, the fireworks scene) Ed O'Neill really nailed it with his role as the working class Dutch Dooley. Ethan Embry, too, shows his surprising acting chops at a young age. I think this was a great coming of age/enemies becoming friends story. One of John Hughes best works. A classic.
Joanna H (ru) wrote: I enjoyed this movie. I think Elizabeth Olson is a very talented actress, and I look forward to seeing what she does in the future. Josh Radnor is... pretty good. I'm more impressed by the fact that he wrote and directed this film than by his acting. The story seems a little predictable, but the dialogue and acting is good enough that I recommended this to some of my friends. (Hey, this movie has a hilarious Zac Efron cameo in it! And it's on Netflix instant watch!) :)
