Ruby H (ca) wrote: Robert Englund is and forever will be better known as Freddy Krueger, one of the genres most iconic and revered characters. But since then his appearances are nothing but disasters, his name alone enough to turn fans off. This is his best performance since the glory days in Elm Street and by far the best part of this overeager horror comedy. He plays a possessed science teacher and his enthusiasm is nothing short of infectious. The rest of the cast is lukewarm at best, clumsy at its worst. Most attempts at comedy fail with just a few lines and a minor character (Howard, the hardware shop man) surviving the over-enthusiastic directors. There's not scares whatsoever, just some blood and some bad special effects. Fun and inessential. Better is the low-budget 15-minute short 'Teen Massacre' to be found on the disc as bonus. If nothing else, it's earnest and has plenty of gore.

Chris W (nl) wrote: I loved Tokyo Raiders so much, I spent ages tracking down a version of this movie that had English subtitles and was playable on American DVD players. I ended up having to order it from Taiwan! I was sorely disappointed. It just doesn't have the inexplicable, lovable quality of Tokyo Raiders. It's still pretty funny, and there's a cool fight in there. But I was pretty let down...

Mike S (kr) wrote: This was the last picture overseen by stop-motion master Ray Harryhausen. It features a giant sea monster, a flying horse, snake-haired Medusa, and a few other hand-animated beasts. Although Harryhausen was an inspiration for a generation of special-effects professionals, the techniques he used were no longer state-of-the-art by 1981.For comparison, this film about Greek gods and heroes came out in the same year as The Empire Strikes Back, which also used stop-motion animation (for its Tauntaun snow lizard and "walkers" - elephantine armored vehicles). Clash of the Titans suffers particularly in its bluescreen effects, where colour balance, matte lines, and perspective issues all distract the viewer from enjoying the story. The cast tries hard, but the script and the direction are too melodramatic for modern tastes.

Kyle E (it) wrote: I love the Halloween films, but my words can't save a failure movie. I think this movie in particular was pretty funny since NO ONE else seemed to be in the hospital as the mayhem was going on! What kind of realism is that?
Cesar G (ru) wrote: A very funny movie that owes it's charming to the performances of Jason Segel and Paul Rudd.
lachlan k (de) wrote: There has been very few films that are as spellbinding as this. All the differvent film aspects along with penn's impeccable directing and the performance of a lifetime by Emile Hirshe combine in a way that is rarely ever seen making this one of the most thought provoking films I've ever seen. There wasn't a single moment I wasn't going through emotions. Whether you admire Mcandless or not isn't the point. This is the kind film that has rarely been seen before and will rarely be seen again.
K N (jp) wrote: The dance scene was worth it alone. Very charming and lovely. Hunt, Tomei, and Mel are fantastic. Many funny and emotional scenes that are great.
