Melissa A (fr) wrote: 2012: Ice Age is guilty of: (1) unrealistic volcanic eruptions, (2) lines like "What can cause clouds like that?" "glaciers!", (3) excessive use of stock footage, and (4) numerous "WTF!" moments where the total lack of scientific knowledge makes me feel bad for the state of education in North America. No explanation is offered as to important questions, such as: why does Newfoundland look like Switzerland? and How can Iceland spawn a glacier much larger than the size of the island itself? In other words, best bad movie ever!

Sarah C (jp) wrote: Not enough here to make a good film - no connection with any of the characters and the build-up is too slow.

Antigoni X (ag) wrote: A true masterpiece. Strong, ugly, sureal and violent as the war itself. One of the best anti-war movies I've ever seen. To bad that this movie is not that known. It has a lot to teach...

David M (kr) wrote: Clunky it may be, dated it certainly is but I still enjoy this movie for its star attractions, Novak, Holden and Russell.

Cody C (es) wrote: Holds up remarkably well. Cheesy, yes, but this movie really does work for the most part. And here and there some of the effects still look good. And even though the premise is retarded they actually explain it well enough that it makes sense.

Kenny N (ca) wrote: Michael Keaton does a good job as every yuppie's worst nightmare. He really plays the cool and calculated psychopath well. Melanie Griffith and Matthew Modine are not as successful (Melanie's too wooden, Matthew's too over the top in all the wrong places.) If you're a landlord, this is your haunted house movie.

Nick M (nl) wrote: Beyond typical westerns with excellent characters and surprisingly fresh dialogue.

Graeme H (kr) wrote: In league with A Clockwork Orange for attempting an intelligent moral message through gratuitous rape and violence with Peckinpah's result being, like Kubrick's, silly and contrived. On a filmmaking level, the films are very good, but what Peckinpah's wants to say with its notorious rape and massacre scenes is beyond me. A second sitting may be useful.

Jonathan F (au) wrote: DO NOT WATCH THIS if A) you dont like to see a storyline go to sh*t. B) Want to see a Heist movie. This is the most infuriating plot I have ever seen. No money gets made, everyone dies, and the whole movie is in a warehouse with the same god forsaken scene the whole time. Lame! 5 thumbs down! Bad heist movie.

Bill B (gb) wrote: Okay, so everyone's standard beef about how much Zombie borrows from this or that film aside: I have to say that I really loved this one from a visual standpoint and the fact that he finally (FINALLY) backed off of that fucking white-trash aesthetic that he's been stuck on for most of his film career and did something more moody and atmospheric, with some amazing visuals is a big selling point.Recommended.
