The Work and the Glory II: American Zion

"The Work and The Glory: American Zion" sets the story of the fictional Steed family against the historically factual backdrop of the Mormon people's move into the West. It is the account of a valiant struggle to exercise the rights promised by a fledgling nation. "The Work and the Glory: American Zion" unearths the story of the passion behind the movement which eventually launched the largest American migration and the colonization of the West: the vision of a promised land in America.

The tale of Lincoln's demise has been covered head to toe and front to back... or so we thought. With superb narration by Tom Hanks and a home run portrayal of Abraham by Billy Campbell... Killing Lincoln features engaging details not known to casual historians and beautifully reenacted scenes plucked from the ages. While Johnson's portrayal of Booth leans a bit on the Disney villain side, I'd still recommend this gripping flick that will leave you educated and wanting more.

Brett H (ag) wrote: Mel Brooks' spoof of classic Universal horror films, Young Frankenstein is neither an amazing comedy nor a completely lame one, and it managed to conjure up a few decent belly laughs from me; though I wished there were more. Gene Wilder brilliantly stars as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced "Fronkensteen" so as not to be confused with his ancestor) who wants to steer as far away from his family's legacy as possible, but soon finds himself consumed by the science of re-animation and it's a riot watching him perform. The other stand-out from the cast is Marty Feldman as Igor (pronounced eye-gor) who is essentially the embodiment of an internet troll, constantly challenging Frankenstein's methods and breaking the fourth wall repeatedly. It's a gag-filled film throughout and I feel it hits more than misses, especially during a random encounter between the Monster and a blind, old man played surprisingly by Gene Hackman that used physical comedy flawlessly! It's exactly what you'd expect from a Mel Brooks film, it's witty, silly, has a random dance number for no reason at all, and overall it's a solid comedy that produces laughs and spoofs the classic, Frankenstein story to a T.
