But after that - it is like an intellectual almost pretentious movie which tackles issues which are heavily address by most Golden age Russian writers, such as Fyodor Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy did in their literary works. I liked how be brought Catcher in the Rye into the conversation and see how he integrated how he see the meaning of the book by the way he describe s the human condition. I do agree with this thought - that the person that we are all faced and have the greatest and fear built of cement walls around our hearts, hard sheets that are causing us to only perpetuate this fear. Anyway, this view of the "The Catcher and the Rye" is one that I have never heard before. But it fits the type of Russian Golden Romanticism with strong influences of Existentialism that I love to my top fictional writers Dostoyevesky and Tolsty. (O I have to add CS Lewis too).

Harry W (nl) wrote: Megaforce fails because it doesn't capture the cheesy 80's Science-Fiction Action Adventure fun that many others did, and that was what me and i'm sure many other viewers were hoping for after i viewed a cheesy action packed trailer/Megaforce has a key problem with it's action: It uses too much slow motion to extend the scenes and confuses the viewer into potentially thinking that the missile enhanced motorbikes are rather slow, when in actuality they're fast and slowed down by poor film editing which has slowed everything down. And since a small amount of slow motion action and a ton of pointless borign dialogue is all you get for the first 30 minutes, Megaforce struggles to entertain for an extended period. The lighting is also constantly varying to the atmosphere but is never solidly good and is consistently a little too dark, especially in the flight sequence 40 minutes in where everything is a tone of red too dark for even the simplest of viewers to identify the occurences in the plot dynamics. And the script in Megaforce is too unoriginal for even a kid-oriented science fiction action film of this calibre, and so the viewer finds little creativity in the dialogue, and it gives little for Barry Bostwick to work with and so it characterises him as a knock off of every comic book character in existence. And the strange choice of costumes in Megaforce are more fitting to secondary characters from Barry Bostwick's best feature, The Rocky Horror Picture Show than to anyone in Megaforce. And in the end, all the explosions, gunshots and cool looking vehicles in Megaforce get squandered on funless action sequences and a general lack of entertainment, and the fact that it was so directionless that i didn't even know what the Megaforce was fighting for, but all i took away from it was the line from Ace Hunter "Good Guys Always Win, Even in the 80's."And along with the crummy Blue-Screen visual effects and the feel that there was no fun in the action, Megaforce just seemed to have squandered a cool idea on a lack of motivation, and come to think of it i think i only saw 1 vehicle explode or anyone get harmed, so Megaforce seemed just to be a weak parody of The A-Team with a good idea and little effort. The musical score was cool though, and it did influence the awesome action film The Delta Force and the satirical hilarious Team America: World Police, but aside from that Megaforce is just too forgettable.

Flu knocks out half the regular police force leaving Sid James sergeant having to deal with a bunch of rookie coppers who are very green behind the ears. Some patchy bad taste but on the whole an enjoyable rainy afternoon film from 1960. Fascinating how things have changed in West London over the past 50 years. The black and white cinematography is striking and to see the old cars and transportation system and low technology is quite revealing. Very camp in places as can be expected with this cast but some strong female character parts and a happy ending (of course)!

The original was chock full of charm, mystery, intrigue and character. These idiots didn't even ATTEMPT to create any of that in this disaster.
