The World of Henry Orient

The World of Henry Orient

Concert pianist Henry Orient (Peter Sellers) is trying to have an affair with a married woman, Stella Dunnworthy (Paula Prentiss), while two teenage private-school girls, Valerie Boyd (Tippy Walker) and Marian Gilbert (Merrie Spaeth), stalk him and write their fantasies about him in a diary. Orient's paranoia leads him to believe that the two girls, who seem to pop up everywhere he goes, are spies sent by the husband of his would-be mistress. When Val's mother, Isabel Boyd (Angela Lansbury), finds their diary, she suspects that Henry has acted inappropriately with her daughter. She contacts Orient and they end up having an affair. Val finds out about it, as does her dad.

A mischievous, adventuresome 14-year-old girl and her best friend begin following an eccentric concert pianist around New York City after she develops a schoolgirl crush on him. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

In reality this work is made up of a collection of gory set pieces and eerie tones, however to dismiss any Lucio Fulci film as a result of plot is a mistake. Fulci's strength was his eye for unusual imagery. The scenes of transmogrified bodies are visually stunning and in true Fulci style he doesn't shy away the audience goes on the journey of splatter and death with him. It remains a must watch for Gore Hounds, Fulci Lovers and Video Nasty enthusiasts.

Ricky G (br) wrote: The premise of this mockumentary is: at the turn of the century, there was a New Zealand filmmaker who actually created many important camera techniques (such as the first tracking shot) and world-changing inventions (such as the first airplane). His work had gone unnoticed until Peter Jackson unearthed it. The fake footage is so well executed and the humor so subtle that the story is almost convincing. Unfortunately, that's all there is to it, kind of a one-note joke, not enough for me to finish watching. Sorry!
