(nl) wrote: Polished, charmingly romantic French comedy/drama about the yearnings of an ordinary young woman and the rich and famous celebrities she encounters in her job as a waitress at a famous Paris bistro. A richly layered slice-of-ideal-Parsian-life, a film about love and art (and food), about passing time and time passing. Not a fully great film, but damn near close. A delightful, humble pleasure. Made me want to start discovering the work of Danile Thompson and re-fall in love with Ccile De France; undoubtedly her most adorable performance yet.

(au) wrote: This film is not unwatchable so much as just embarrassing. It really is on that perfect balance between so hilariously you need see it to believe and so anemic, you don't whether to ask what the producers were thinking or what you're doing still watching it. The acting is terrible, the story is impractical, the product placements are far too prominent to call if a movie so much as commercial for Coke, Skittles, and McDonald's, the utter law-suit ripoff on E.T. is just unspeakable.
(nl) wrote: Not great acting plus a kind of silly plot, but maintains its creepiness and is worth seeing if for nothing more than the finale'!

(us) wrote: A interesting early Spielberg film...ie before he made Jaws...and it isn't to bad but it's no masterpiece either. He clearly from the word go had a great sense of entertainment and knows how to make a movie and Goldy wasn't to bad either.Lacked the depth his later films have but still was a fun easy watch....a good solid film, worth a watch if nothing else is on television....
