Thomas A (fr) wrote: "Moss" is perhaps among the best sinister Korean thriller of all time. While in the first 30 mins or so one may be tempted to think of it as the Korean take of the film noir genre, "Moss" really isn't a noir. The sheer length of 2 hours and 35 mins in total (as opposed to most thrillers that often try to condense it to less than 2 hours) enables it to explore all the themes of secrecy, betrayal, and hypocrisy that runs deep within all of the characters. And the ending comes with a twist, which is sort of an irony somehow.
Carlos M (ru) wrote: As much as I hate "Big Man Japan", I hate this film even more. The film practically has 2 seperate plots, with the 1st leading to the 2nd. It's effects are cheesy and crappy, it's actors are terrible in films, and while I don't know a thing about Fever Dreams Production, I know a thing or 2 about films, and this is no film. THIS...IS...S**T!

Joey K (de) wrote: Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Elevator to the Gallows takes a familiar narrative and revitalizes it with plot twists and an excess of noir style. Not to mention an unforgettable score by the legendary Miles Davis. Malle's direction and Dacae's cinematography infuse ETTG's Parisian setting with suspense and suspicion. As in any good noir, we're rooting for characters who are duplicitous murderers. And we want them to get away with it. I absolutely loved this film. It's elaborately crafted and efficiently told, while maintaining the freshness of the French New Wave. Elevator to the Gallows stands the test of time and ranks among the best of film noir.
