(kr) wrote: The first hour is mesmerizing. The cinematography in Terrence Malick's films is unreal. Sadly, To the Wonder escalates into utter hilarity halfway through. The dialogue gets lame (ex. "What is this love that loves us?") and I couldn't interpret what Malick was trying to say. Disappointing.

The story barely made sense because of the lack of backstory and it was slightly confusing, but maybe that added to the creepiness?

Is it just the case that Damien Echols became such a celebrity from the first film that the film-makers only wanted to focus on him. It certainly seemed that the group of campaigners were only interested in Echols in a strange sort of obsessive way. I am a little dubious about it all, I can't help thinking that everyone involved in this film except the police and the jury were too interested in becoming famous, and not interested enough about righting wrongs. The lawer seemed to prove that all three were innocent due to the fact that the bite marks didn't match so why wasn't that enought to get them out, and surely finding Byers dental records before he had his teeth removed might have been a good idea. We are clearly not being given the full story here, it seems to be a completely biased view with a weak attempt to make it look objective.

(us) wrote: No way even those clueless about baseball won't get a kick out of the high tension and suck-you-in obsession of John Sayle's "Eight Men Out". It's a fever pitch of taut acting and black wit that's all the way through for the love of the game. Sayles throws a loving and intuitive curveball.

(es) wrote: Considered now a seminal film in the histories of screwball comedy, romantic comedy, and indeed the Academy Awards, It Happened One Night is perhaps the most sophisticated example of early Hollywood sound filmmaking that would define the Classical Hollywood Era. It's an enjoyable trip with whip-smart repartee, clever schticks, and charming performances from its shining stars - Gable and Colbert - and supporting cast alike.
(us) wrote: Very cute and sweet romance about rediscovering love when you thought it was gone.
(nl) wrote: A very entertaining and comedic animal horror film, the second best snake movie I've seen after Anaconda. It's got some great chaotic atmosphere of a recked plane, and also some great performances. As for the snakes themselves, they are okay, the CGI effects can kind of look akward, but that could be become they are from overseas tropical snakes. What i also loved is the characters, they are well developed. Recommended !!
