(ru) wrote: Dom Hemingway is a relatively mediocre dramedy whose saving grace is Jude Law's performance. Aside from that it is an average affair, whose initial promise fades as the movie progresses.
(de) wrote: theres nothing much to be said about the movie, except that it brings out the the smiles in the most expected ways. it tells you a story about a fat uncool kid who is bolstered into coolness by an outside force. pretty run of the mill right? right. understandably thats what the filmmakers were going for and thats exactly what you got. but nowhere in the film you thought the feel-good-ness doesnt make sense. i mean he doesnt get the girl and he doesnt run 500 miles to lose weight. IT IS a success story which makes movie-sense.

(ca) wrote: One of my all time favorite movies. It's inventive, it's feel-good, has iconic scenes, it's fun, a simple but original and creative premise, memorable characters,a badass and epic theme song, and has probably my favorite line in any movie quote ever. "Roads? Where We're Going We Don't Need Roads"
(ca) wrote: A bromantic sex comedy about graduating seniors and longtime best buds, Michael and Matty, who -- as two virgins! -- make a pact to help the other "score" before their senior prom. Michael (Nicholas Braun - Perks of Being a Wallflower) and Matty (Hunter Cope - April Apocalypse) have a mission ... until Matty secretly confides to his best friend that he is gay and their friendship is heavily tested through some ups and downs. As a film with a simple message of tolerance, it works adequately although it is heavily bogged down with stereotypes and predictable generalizations. Weak direction in general does not help the film as it can be watched but is mostly forgettable. Date and Switch's most noteworthy element is its co-star Dakota Johnson who stars in the upcoming 50 Shades of Gray. She does do a nice job here in her role with an understated performance as Matty's supportive confidante; but it doesn't really matter because the film is so forgettable..
