Jennifer M (es) wrote: The title of this movie is really Norah Jones in a Caf.

Prohibido Nebraska K (ag) wrote: Me encanta la actuacion de Bryce Dallas Howard

Ryan V (jp) wrote: About the same as the first excursion into the world of Puppet Master. Some of the puppets look creepy, but it's still too plodding and low budget to be effective.

Walter M (fr) wrote: In "Damnation," a singer(Vali Kerekes) closes the door literally and figuratively on her affair with Karrer(Miklos B. Szekely), choosing to stay with her family. So, Karrer becomes so depressed that he turns down an offer to travel to pick up a package, claiming he does not feel like going anywhere, despite quite possibly living in the infamous Armpit of the Universe. Instead, he proposes that the singer's husband Sebastyen(Gyorgy Cserhalmi) take the job for 20% which would clear up their debts. With "Damnation," director Bela Tarr slows down the pace to create a sense that the characters are stuck in their predicaments without any hope of escape. This is especially true of Karrer who spends an awful lot of time looking at the aerial tram going past his windows. The only problem with this stylistic approach is that as often as it works(a slow pan around a bedroom), it just as much annoys. For example, no establishing shot should last a minute. And there are quite a few times when there is nothing of interest in the frame which leaves plenty of time for the viewer to get a drink, use the bathroom or work on the New York Times crossword puzzle.

Chris B (it) wrote: While many of the effects are showing their age, the films elements of survival and humanity remain timeless. The acting is good and the sense of isolation is essentially there from beginning to end. Even when finding Mona or discovering "Friday" there are language barriers that must be overcome. Survival is hard and the going is treacherous throughout the film but as most older films do, it has a happy ending. Recommended!

Jimmy P (mx) wrote: This is one of the defining films in American cinema. Though it is a "kid's movie" and a "boy's movie" it can speak to anyone: It is the coming of age film that all others are measured by.

Aileen J (mx) wrote: I found those old post-war pictures of Frankfurt and Berlin extremely interesting, having spent many years in both places as they grew out of the rubble into modern cities. The shots of the Pater Nosters in the Frankfurt IGB Farben building brought back delightful and sometimes apprehensive moments.

Arnold K (de) wrote: A really good psychological thriller

John W (it) wrote: This is a fun spy spoof the family can enjoy. As long as your family is ok with mild mock violence and even milder language. The whole time I watched this I got the feeling it was a sequel or an adaptation to a bigger book. But this is a good thing, I want more from these characters. This is kinda Mr. And Mrs. Smith and a babysitting comedy in one. See it you'll enjoy the time.
