Mickey M (it) wrote: A con man (Edward Burns) gets in debt with the mafia after he targets an accountant working for them for a con. He then has to deal with a shadow assigned to follow him by the mafia boss (Dustin Hoffman). The acting is nearly perfect. Especially from Burns and Hoffman. The supporting cast are also wonderful in their roles. Burns is the one that really stands out from the other characters. The director uses a lot of shadows in this movie. Every shot appears to be set up well. The only thing I'd liked to have seen is more of Andy Garcia. He doesn't appear until near the end of the movie. I would suggest that you either rent this as a first choice, or watch it on HBO (or other cable channel).

The pacing is great, the script funny, and the chemistry between Ward and Bacon is outstanding. I just can't get sick of watching this film.- Watched yet again, this time in Blu-ray. This movie never gets old to me, and I love every second of it. I think the chemistry between Fred Ward and Kevin Bacon really helps to make it. Check it out!- Watched yet again...LOVE this movie!- I absolutely love this movie. Pure cheesy fun with great chemistry between the leads Ward and Bacon and some strong supporting work from Gross and McEntire. This is one of the movies I have watched the most times and never gets old tome. Highly recommended for a fun movie.

Eric V (nl) wrote: Michael Caine plays a private eye (aka Peeper) who stumbles upon an investigation that deals with a woman who unknown to her has inherited a great deal of money. Unfortunately, there seems to be a group of people out to kill him before he can find her. A lighthearted comedy that is passable entertainment, but not memorable.
