These sounds make you think Goddamn, why can't pop music be this good these days? I mean these performers had soul and groove and badass songs. Nowadays...please. Tim will eat this one up for the performances. It kinda left me hanging with the overall feel of the performance and the anxiety, but I got so wrapped up in the music and the performances that I didn't care. A joy to watch.

Having said that, Dhoom 2 was even better to me than the first! I love seeing Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan together!!! Sadly, some of my favorite parts from the first Dhoom seemed like stalling until the next scene with those two! I always love Hrithik Roshan in the movies I've seen him in and it's not just because I have a huge crush on him :D he truly gives it his all when he is performing & I love to watch his movies because of that!
(ag) wrote: This was a film about a man who thought he could fall in love with a killer alien and get away with it. Everyone told him "its a killer sex alien" but nooooo this mush thought himself so great he could "tame" it with his manliness. Sadly for him he was not much of a man, he was a loser of the highest order a true dork. Anyways he and this horny killer alien have some adventures before he realises he's punching above his weight and that true love does not conquer all. I was very dissapointed she did not eat him at the end or at least his mate who was an even bigger moron. Not the most realistic film but worth a watch if teleshopping is on the other side.

(ca) wrote: My first foray into Kiyoshi Kurosawa, who from what I gather is used to more straight, creepy J-Horror. This one plays more like a character-driven drama, but if any of his other movies are just as creepy as Bright Future, I would be pleasantly surprised. It's filled to the brim with subtle technique and substance, and the movie's just so damn nice to look at. I love the varied, dark shots and the juxtaposition of the grimy with arresting beauty, the cluttered bedroom and the gentle undulations of the jellyfish. I want to live in this movie. The story moves at a steady, natural pace, running undisturbed, refusing to waste time and lets the characters and situations simmer. This is masterful storytelling. You should go see it. The more you think about Bright Future, the more you appreciate what it had to offer.

(mx) wrote: Very nice setup, and very interesting story for the standard of horror movie. Not as scary as expected, but quite entertaining.
(es) wrote: Definitely not the original, but a nice revisit to the characters and a refreshing cast from the usual offerings so worthwhile just to see someone over 30 feel something, do something, want something and know something.
(kr) wrote: Disappointing as it didn't live up to the standard of the previous films, still some cool deaths scenes but weren't great. Formulaic and cliche, it only served as an ending point for the original trilogy
