(jp) wrote: Well made and well acted movie that takes one uncomfortably close to the lives of two thugs and two other almost thugs. Viewers are almost forced to fall in love with the four for all their flaws and this is made worse by the sufferings inflicted on them as they battle each other to death. The backdrop makes the Western even more poignant than otherwise.

Sita is one of the most authentic (animated) films ever and Nina should be congratulated for her all alone work. A fantastic job and certainly one of the best animated films lately!

There is just something so strangely familiar about the stories that many will relate to one way or another.

At least, that's the premise of the 1996 film, "Fly Away Home." It's one of those movies that comes with the insincere tag line, "Inspired by a true story," which really means it's completely fabricated. But the appeal of the film comes not from its potential real-world roots, but from the beauty found in the connections between its incredibly heartfelt characters. This is an absolute classic not to be missed.

Many years later, I own the DVD and once every couple of years or so I dust off the cover and pop it in the DVD player and it brings a smile to my face. I love the shape-shifting spaceship, which was a very novel idea.
