Chris C (us) wrote: A FABULOUSLY shot, directed and acted movie following the 1970's genre of horror. Make sure to get past the first part of the movie to reveal the intense emotions this movie stirs... you get to see how a mass murderer feels as well as what his "guests' go through. If you like horror at all, you have to see this movie!!!

Baurushan J (jp) wrote: The story is about some guy who writes an American magazine goes to Australia for a boat trip where he meets his guide and a variety of other tourists. Soon they are trapped on a small piece of land and must get to safety before the tide rises before the tide rises higher since there is a 25-ft crocodile lurking in the rivers and streams and is clever enough to trap its prey before killing them. None of the characters are developed; they just show us what they can do so that we can point at them and reveal their personalities such as she plays our guide, he must be the hero, she's a photographer, he had a troubled past and I don't care anymore. But what do you expect from the director of Wolf Creek? Yes Greg McLean who directed that thinly written torture porn back in the early 2000s known as Wolf Creek both wrote and directed this movie and now he is planning on a Wolf Creek 2...CAN YOU FUCKING BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!! Sam Worthington is in this movie and even he is bland since he does nothing. The crocodile is barely in this movie and therefore this movie is boring and lame!!!!!!! Rogue gets a 2/10.
Brian S (fr) wrote: The mother of all torture porn movies as well as a masterpiece and icon of modern horror cinema. This is actually my second time seeing this flick. Saw really is disturbing and suspensful, as well as a thrilling and smart story to it and some terrific acting for a modestly budgeted movie. I don't know how they even managed to get Danny Glover in this movie, but anyways, he's terrific. Gory and scary. Recommended !!
Kenneth H (kr) wrote: I don't really get this film. Yes, part of that has to do with all the references to deer hunting culture, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and the not-quite-intelligible Yooper accent everyone speaks in. But I also don't understand why what should have been a simple plot about a luckless hunter finally bagging his buck turned into this weird acid trip of a movie, with flashing lights, "aliens"/"God"/"Bearwalk" (huh?), some weird ranger coming out of nowhere and stripping/singing for no apparent reason, and, for the climax, Reuben running out into the woods in his long johns to shoot a deer, aided by the ghost of his long-dead ancestor. (Isn't he cold? He stopped to put on a hat and gloves but not a jacket and pants?)

Jess B (ru) wrote: Production value aside, yes the wee folk were over the top, however, the patient was constantly being morphined (WW1), this movie dealt with issues far wiser than many reviewers dealt with recognizing those issues. With a limited budget, and the amount of research and technology available for the initial writing then time of production,it still did a great job at showing us that a near "locked in" individual was experiencing and the torture, hopelessness, and moments of hope that are constantly occurring in amine that has no motion. The other issue was how truly evil we can be in our experiments on defenseless individuals that are hidden away. They dramatized this with the utility closet, in real life there are mental facilities that no one speaks of while they are running. Bravo to the story, Hollywood will never throw big budget numbers at something like this today, as Joe was no longer allowed to see the light of day, neither are the guinea pigs of today or their tales.
