There's such an odd, hellish, demonic aura from this movie that knows exactly how to treat its subject matter: like if it was pagan, satanic and from the depths of hell. I do believe this is how Mexicans view their satanic folklore, and so with that said, I highly recommend this movie for people that love getting scared by ambience, difficult themes, and art, as this does take a few viewings to wrap your head around.

Excellent film about a really bad plan gone wrong, very tense and moody with fine performances from Kim Stanley as the off-kilter domineering wife and Richard Attenborough as the reluctant hen-pecked husband.

Ondrej (it) wrote: Your typical 90s action flick. J. Malkovich elevates the movie as well as E. Morricone's music. Suspence element makes it special.
Chuck S (nl) wrote: I wish they had the "urge" to make a better movie. Crazy and demented but so empty I couldn't tell you a single thing that happened. Makes no impression. There's not even a drug that I know of that could make this enjoyable. I think I watched my dogs sleep most of the time, but in the directors defense, they're really cute dogs....
