Joshua P (ca) wrote: Outside of Woody Allen, this is one of the two or three romantic comedies that I've enjoyed for its great writing and directing. For the record - one of the complaints about the movie in Ms. Hare's audience review was a misunderstanding someone would of course have avoided if they had watched the film the rest of the way through. Maybe she can find some time to finish it when she's gotten off of the phone with the inciting incident police.

Ashley W (de) wrote: I really enjoyed this movie. I never read the manga or saw the anime so i'm sure i'm missing out on some things but I still think this was done really well. I watched this movie for the boy love aspect of it and found the "mystery" of what happened to Jin-hyeok when he was a child to be really compelling.

Andrea M (gb) wrote: A heart-warming, inspirational film. Streep's performance is remarkable, and her motivation can be felt just as much watching the picture as if we were her students inside the film. Whilst I did not find it to be extraordinary or ground-breaking in terms of artistic production or plotline, and it does feel to me pretty conventional on the whole, it has a soul, and that's the most important thing in a picture like this. A more fitting title should be "Film from the Heart".

Phil H (jp) wrote: Probably the franchise Julian Sands is best known for...but that's probably not the best thing to shout about. I remember seeing this in the videoshop as a kid, top row, where young hands couldn't reach. It was considered a bit of a video nasty I think, to do with witchcraft, evil demons, the devil etc...not the stuff for young developing minds.First time seeing this recently and it did kinda remind me of 'The Evil Dead' a little bit. Not totally of course but the plot revolves around the good guys getting their hands on the pages of a Grimoire which isn't too dissimilar from those early Raimi flicks. The soundtrack is odd and doesn't really match the action, its kinda of quirky when it should be impending doom. A young Richard E. Grant plays the good guy but is miscast really, pretty bad Scottish accent there, at least I think its suppose to be Scottish. The only good thing about this film is Sands lets be honest here. The guy is good looking in that blonde British aristocratic Sting kind of way, he's well spoken, he looks badass in his costume and his hair looks cool I can't deny it. He merely trapes around killing people in nasty ways and that's it, with the odd bit of fancy witchcraft dialog.I liked this for being a typical crummy cheesy ass 80's horror flick. The effects look awful now, truly horrific, especially when the Warlock is flying around yikes!. I'm guessing back in the day they weren't too bad but I dunno because I never saw it back in the day. Other than that the film doesn't really hold up too well these days, it looked cheap for its time so now it looks even worse.A case of the films visuals/special effects looking so bad its cool. Whilst the acting and general feel/atmosphere of the film is darn corny nowadays, its great fun to watch hehe. Not sure why its such a cult film though.

Scott A (ca) wrote: Okay, while the first one was a lot of fun, this one is just lost on how to follow it up.This one too is loaded with nudity, but it's more cause it takes place overseas and most of it is topless beach stuff. There's only a few main characters, and the ones that do show some skin make it very brief or tame. The nicer bearded guy from the first film, and the girl he wooed, return in this one but I'm still unclear why. I think they just happened to be visiting where the plot takes place maybe? And at some point the guy is hooking up with someone else? That doesn't make sense, as he was the only one that learned his lesson in the first film right?Gone are Cramer and Gains, and insert two very wooden and boring guys: the one guy isn't even a red head!!!Basically it's set up that Scott went and became a big movie star, but the way they do it is they show filming scenes, and then it feels like it's a real movie, and then you'll see someone yell cut in the middle of a moment, so who knows. I think they were trying to be clever, but the film is just a mess. If it's all just a movie in a movie, then who cares? And while Scott was a smart & charming guy in the first one, he's a bit of a cheating douche with a moron as his fiance. The only good one in the cast was Fabiana Udenio, who is just all kinds of adorable. The music is cheese too.Seems like instead of making a straight follow up they thought they could be sneaky and made a big mistake in my opinion.

Jason J (nl) wrote: I thought The Snare was much better than Sword of Justice in that it concentrates on the storyline unlike the first movie which focused more on Hanzo's interrogation techniques on women. We get to see two such interrogations but it doesn't last for that long and his training methods on which I mentioned in another review is kept to a minimum. This is by far one of the most sexist movies I've seen and so politically incorrect but that's why it's so great. You could never get away doing these kind of movies these days. The dry humour which is present throughout the movie is there to let you know that you can't take everything too seriously. A particular sequence I loved was the ambush by Lord Okubo's ninjas at Hanzo's house. Naturally Hanzo is well prepared for such an attack and has boobytrapped the entire place. Spears come down from the ceiling and from the walls of the house and there's a hidden arsenal of weapons for Hanzo to use. The attack is a complete failure and the assassins are decimated. Blood is sprayed about like it's come from a hosepipe! Some of the statements that come out from Hanzo's mouth is just so hilarious. Shintaro Katsu is just awesome as the anti-hero Hanzo. He's like a bull in a china shop barging his way into every situation but it produces results. You just woudn't mess with the guy if you came across him. The actors protraying his ex-con assistants produce much of the humour and provide a nice balance for Hanzo's snarly attitude. If you liked Hanzo's first movie then you have to check out this one. Who would have thought that Japanese trash cinema would be so much fun! Those that are easily offended would be wise to stay away from this movie.
