Jacky L (nl) wrote: the Love In A Puff/ The Buff installments were very well written, enjoyable, likable! I may prefer this to the slightly more 'frivolous' In A Puff. that mini yang looked quite delectable here. and nope, i had no beef with the shawn yue/ miriam yeung pairing. however incompatible they looked together, they did make quite a cute, believable screen couple in these.

David D (mx) wrote: Even though it's not as clever as the first film, Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs Evil still has a good story, clever twists and turns, cute dialogue, a great voice cast headed by Hayden Panettiere as Red, Glen Close as Granny, Patrick Warburton as The Big Bad Wolf, David Ogden Stiers as Nicky Flippers, Martin Short as The Woodcutter, Joan Cusack as The Witch and Bill Hader and Amy Poehler as Hansel & Gretel, beautiful animation and funny scenes and sequences that will keep this movie together from falling apart.

Patric C (it) wrote: More of a supernatural drama than a horror. However, the plot didn't bore too much (though the ending seemed rushed) and Ingrid Pitt is as fantastic as ever.
Jack G (it) wrote: The first half of the film is okay as set-up... the second half with the pay-off is amazing, with the ending being one of the most unexpected and disturbing in any film. I really responded to Dennis' cold atmosphere of character, even as Michael Burns was kind of a weak noodle. Not one of his best but a fine example of the start of the Altman 'style' (mostly with a few instances of overlapping dialog and social commentary themes.
Scott M (mx) wrote: Nonsensical but not boring. Lots of action and elaborate sets. Acting raises the quality of the movie a tiny bit.

Ian B (gb) wrote: This terrific slasher flick from the 80's holds a special place in my heart because of how insanely Canadian it is. Shot on location around Nova Scotia (and featuring some incredibly thick east coast accents), it gives the film a unique atmosphere that sets it apart from other horror movies. The script is very formulaic, but it's surprisingly well-directed and acted, and has much more style and suspense than one would expect from a movie like this. The mine setting and the fact these are woking class characters instead of high school or college kids are a welcome change. My Bloody Valentine is all the more enjoyable now thanks to some long lost gore effects footage being rediscovered and put back in the film, making it one of the bloodiest slashers of the decade. It's scary, funny, campy and especially enjoyable for Canadian horror fans (seriously, Moosehead beer appears in almost every scene).

Connor S (jp) wrote: Catfish is basically a documentary/film about lies. Everything that you think in the beginning turns out to be a lie, and while this usually works in a fictional film with fictional characters, it doesn't work well with real people. Once the film acknowledged the lies, I stop caring about the people involved (granted, I didn't particularly care for them anyway). And ultimately, the film is unsatisfying, since the ending doesn't explain or wrap up any details. Overall, Catfish is a real-ish film about untrue things.
