Jeremy Sisto was especially funny as a chatty and slightly neurotic police detective. And Ralph Macchio as the stereotypical Italian mobster brought great comedic value to the film. An Indie comedy that is quirky and not over done, and definitely worth the watch.

Matt B (au) wrote: May is one of my favorite horror movies, as well as one of the most underrated horror movies EVER. I urge everyone to see it before they die. It's brilliant. It's like a modern day Frankenstein tale made all the more realistic by Angela Bettis' INCREDIBLE performance. Everything she does here is believable. Even though May goes into slasher territory halfway through, Bettis doesn't make her titular character one of those immortal masked murderers. She's just a lonely, deeply disturbed woman trying to make a friend.Lucky McKee's directional debut is unforgettable. It's a dark, creepy, highly original horror movie with frightening imagery and one of the best final shots I've seen in a movie.
Annie W (ru) wrote: Began with a problem: No air conditioning, yet the windows are up on the drive while everyone sweats themselves into a stupor. How could the crew have missed this? Because it has a good mystery from the beginning, it creeps up on you, shocks you, and than disappointingly peters out as to why. But it definitely keeps you guessing. However, what a blatant error from the start. Usually I don't catch some stuff, but no a/c on a trip with the windows up? Wow. Good to watch on a snowy, winter's morning when you are out of eggs...

Ashley H (es) wrote: In Man Without a Star Kirk Douglas as Dempsey Rae gives great performance; an outgoing cowboy, unstable and with fits of euphoria. This film is able to capture beauty of the west, of big herds of cattle, and daily life of the cowboys. Dempsey is running away from barbed wire, which to him means the end of freedom. He calls himself a man without a star because he is obsessed about his freedom of choice, whereas following a star will bind him to predetermined life. His affair with Jeanne Crain, with plenty of sexual innuendo, but far from being explicit, is one of great things about this film. William Campbell has an important part as an easterner who wants to become a cowboy and Kirk Douglas is there to teach him.
