Colm M (ag) wrote: A really evocative piece of dramatised documentary film making contrasting the totally different lifestyles of a little boys seperated parents. His mother is from Rome and his father, of mayan indian decent, is from Mexico. Little Natan spends sometime with his father at sea off the coast of Mexico before he must return to Rome with his mother. A movie about a stunningly beautiful natural environment and how it helps to solidify the relationship between father and son before little Natan leaves for a life in Italy with his mother. The movie makes no judgement on either parent but rather concentrates on the little boys growing confidence in a new environment and his growing bond with his loving father. Beautiful.

jeroen v (au) wrote: A perfect film in every way. Allan Loeb's scenario is spot on, Bier's direction decisive and Oscar-deservingly sophisticated, both Berry and Del Toro sensational in the leads, all supportive actors superbly cast. I laughed and cried and smiled and felt included in this slice of life that stays with you forever. Even amongst Bier's extensive list of great films, this is a highlight.
Adrian B (br) wrote: Wonderful adaption of the famed novel by Agatha Christie in which ten individuals end up on island off the coast of England due to a note regarding a fortune. Interestingly, as they await for a final guest, Mr. Owen, who us viewers never see, they begin to die one by one, all by murder. All suspect it's the other, but every guess they make fails since that one is then killed. Agatha Christie has been known to reject films based on her famous books for their inadequacy of retelling the tail, but this film does a fine job, thanks its quirkiness, cast (Barry Fitzgerald, Walter Huston, and Judith Anderson are the standouts), film techniques, and suspense. He we are with another movie that has been forgotten. Easily, one of the best films of 1945.
Fred V (de) wrote: After coming close to shutting this film off merely 25 minutes in, I struggled through the next 40, only to shut it off for good 1 hour and 5 minutes into the 106 minute runtime of this disastrous film. Poor casting, bland humour, and a whole host of ridiculous scenes make this film excruciatingly boring to watch. It's hard to care about anything that's at stake, and the childish attempts at humour don't work when this film isn't trying to be like Johnny English (2003). Give this a miss!
Scotty W (ag) wrote: Mel Gibson and Danny make for a damn good team in this '80s action classic. With its heavy (and heady) saxophone soundtrack and handheld-stylized camerawork, Lethal Weapon stands tall as a tribute to its time and the late-great stuntman Dar Robinson. It should be no surprise that Mel Gibson broke out big with the two-hand punch of Mad Max and Lethal Weapon; here, he again plays a police officer struggling with a deep personal loss, but this time with a charm and swagger that explodes onscreen.
