Jamin M (au) wrote: As a former big fan of Hannah Montana, I have a bit of a soft spot for this movie. It's definitely not a good or great film, but I think it succeeds as entertaining mediocrity. I did like the story, the music, and the sentimentality of it. But I didn't like Miley's behavior in this, and the problem I have with the story is the same one I have with the series: the fact that Miley has to go through all of this trouble, all of this drama because of her secret identity. It's ridiculous. I hated how she let her Hannah side take over. Why doesn't she realize that her life would be a lot easier if she didn't have this double life? All it does is cause stress, lies, and pain to the ones she cares about. Either she should quit being Hannah or just go out into the industry as herself. So I kind of like it, but the problems with the show definitely carry over into this film.
Timothy S (es) wrote: It must be the horror geek in me, but for the 2nd year in a row, I got very excited when Horror Fest 2007 came to town. Thirty minutes into "Crazy Eights", I was wondering why I got excited in the first place. It probably has the best cast of any film in the festival, but they are saddled with a promising premise that goes nowhere, plodding and amateurish direction and limited special effects. Gorehounds will be sorely disappointed by the lack of the goods, and those looking for psychological horror should keep on looking as well. Traci Lords shows her acting hasn't improved much over the years, and I thought co-star Frank Whaley was making a comeback after his wonderfully demented performance in the nifty "Vacancy" earlier this year. Judging from this film, that was apparently a fluke. The film has a decidedly Stephen King feel to it, with a group of childhood friends coming together to confront a secret from their past. In fact, this could have been based on the worst King novel never written. The plot does have some promise and with a better script and more talented director, this could have been a major motion picture. As it stands now, it's a direct-to-video loser that somehow made it into theaters thanks to a festival that glorifies low quality films. There's no reason to see this.
Katie W (br) wrote: this heartwarming film is lacking of a plot but is made up in the acting, I also loved the deeper meaning to the rebellion, like the cancerous mother and the girl with abandment issues from her father. I find myself upset that i'm not her. i'd definitrally suggest it.

David L (ru) wrote: Paths of Glory has one of the best endings of the time with such an unforgettable scene filled with power and emotion, it is also well acted and so well directed by Kubrick and although a bit too simplistic and lacking subtlety, it is still one of his best films thanks to excellent action scenes, great dramatic dialogue and it is filled with emotion and evident realism.
Val C (kr) wrote: Kids really enjoyed this movie, and I think it has messages that they will continue to discover in the years to come. Entertaining enough for the grownups as well that it isn't a chore to sit through it for miultiple viewings.
