Sarah A (ag) wrote: This is a made-for-TV movie, which means the acting may not be that great, and that was the case for this film. The writing also was weak at points, and the movie dragged on and on. However, it kept my attention as I watched to see what would happen to all the characters.

Stuart K (au) wrote: From writer/director Lawrence Kasdan, whose success include writing The Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark, and also directing films such as Body Heat, The Big Chill, Grand Canyon and French Kiss, creates this amusing little ensemble piece which was forgotten about upon it's original release, but it deserved more recognition. Set in the sleepy town of Mumford, it follows a psychologist called Dr. Micky Mumford (Loren Dean) who has recently moved to the town. He becomes quite popular amongst the townspeople, befriending local modem billionaire Skip Skipperton (Jason Lee) and falling for one of his patients Sofie Crisp (Hope Davis). However, he has a hidden past, he used to be an IRS investigator who was addicted to cocaine. After an investigation goes wrong, he hits rock bottom, rehabilitated himself with some monks, and that's how he ended up in the town of Mumford, plus he's had no training at all in psychology, but he does his job well, and he gets something out of it. It's an amusingly quirky little comedy-drama, it's a little unbelievable with how he got away with it, but as the film suggests, everyone has their secrets. It's got a good script with some good quirky characters, performed by a brilliant supporting cast including Zooey Deschanel, Ted Danson, Alfre Woodard, David Paymer and Martin Short!! Well worth a look.
Keenan S (au) wrote: Pure cheese to the fullest extent, The Dallas Connection is like any other Sidaris film. This makes it difficult to review since it is similar to the other films Andy and his sons have made, but I still enjoyed it for what it is and it gave me a satisfactory fix for my craving of cheesy action films. Besides, I've become quite fond of their films. I think it's impossible for me to hate anything the Sidaris family has made. If you enjoyed the other films, you'll like this one. If you hated the other entries, this won't change your mind.

Tamatai N (it) wrote: A hugely twisted work of horror cinema that adresses the challenges those looking for the 'perfect' romantic partner tend to face...particularly if they're a rather dim and deranged psychopath with an obedient housekeeper to assist them. Definitely well worth watching if you're a horror fan, as it's considered a classic (somewhat deservingly, but not very) amongst afficianados of the genre. However, I can't help but feel just a little disappointed. Overall, a sick, provocative and pretty decent horror flick for anyone interested.
Jenn M (jp) wrote: Why oh why did Buster Keaton lower himself to "cameo" in this? Gambling debt? Alimony? Anything? After 45 minutes, I still had no idea what this was about. After reading three different plot lines on other websites, I gave up. And what was with the skydiving thing? It just seemed like it was just put in there purely for filler and to give the amazing Don Rickles a chance to at least make the movie closer to being tolerable.
David F (de) wrote: Brilliant British comedy featuring a clever tour-de-force performance by Tom Courtney as a lazy, self-absorbed, two-timing layabout, given to Walter Mitty-like daydreaming and spinning tall tales as a release from his drab little life within a small north English town shaking off post-war ruin while transitioning to a more youthful, jet-age modernism. Julie Christie is enchanting as the free-spirited swinger who can lead him away from his dreary existence and to a new life in London.
