(de) wrote: Besides some rather bad CGI at the end this movie hits all the right notes...if only all films could be half as enjoyable as this

(us) wrote: The first one was far from being a catch , the sequel is as bad or as good depending on what you thought of the first episode. Once again kids might love this type of films... i guess this is the public the film aimed for. somehow the goal is matched but be insured it wasn't a great goal in the first place.

(jp) wrote: I don't see why this is considered one of the worst films ever made. It's an original, energetic, and highly amusing comedy of unusual intelligence. Sure, a lot of the acting is terrible, but that's more than made up for by the comic ability of Ryan O'Neal and Richard Jeni, among others.

(us) wrote: A campy and fun little film that really manages to go way out with killer animal plot archetype. Maybe you never though worms were scary, but you were wrong. Fishing becomes a nightmare in a rural Georgia town on the coast. Loads of fun for anyone who enjoys cheesy horror at its finest.
(de) wrote: Intriguing, off-beat melodrama. Great performance from Bette (of course), Humphrey maintains his record of never appearing in a bad film and Ronal Regan is as wooden as a tree trunk
(kr) wrote: A love story with guts. Only William Wyler could accomplish this kind of movie with attitude and class. Bette Davis achieves an amazing performance in this authentic passionate story brimming with excitement.

The acting is silent movie melodramatic but is easily overlooked as the story is gritty and affecting. The flying scenes are excellent as is a dreamlike sequence where a railyard is bombed. Richard Barthelmess, an almost forgotten silent movie star, is formidably intense in the lead role.

(mx) wrote: The acting is bad but can spark up some laughs and the special effects are cool. There's a particular scene I like in which the character Angela seductively dances to strobe lights and the music of Bauhaus. Its main killer is its story, which is pretty thin. Overall its enjoyable enough to recommend but don't expect perfection.
(it) wrote: Not too bad, better then I thought it would be.
(gb) wrote: It's alright. The story could've been cleaned up better.
