(gb) wrote: This is a surprisingly well-done documentary about the man behind all those classic Hollywood stop-motion animation movie monsters. Dinosaurs, Medusa, a skeleton army - this man gave life to some truly timeless characters, and this documentary respectfully and affectionately tells Harryhausen's story. There are also lots of golden little nugget interviews with famous special affects artists and directors that makes this doc a must-see for any movie fan.

I like how accurate they portray everyone and the customs they included, details and such, I was very glad to see this film.

(gb) wrote: If you are a space combat sim fan and don't care about the deviation from the original Wing Commander series this film is definitely for you. Straight plot, no hidden meaning, nice special effects (sometimes overdone but who cares?). I have been a big fan of this film since I was a teenager. I am genuinely surprised to find the rating of this film being so low. It's definitely watchable and enjoyable, many films here with much better rating are actually worse.

The old cast are still great as ever and the new cast brings out some new energy to it. The scares are better than the original Scream, and the suspense is more effective too. The score by Marco Beltrami is really good, and the humor is really funny, maybe even better. The kills are still creative, and the thrills of the first movie are still here. The script by Kevin Williamson is still really great and still has the meta feel which is toned down which I was fine with consider that the first film perhaps got some people annoyed about it being too meta or cheeky. What happen to one of the characters got me frustrated because it just seems convenient of how its played out and covered up by some random people that don't know what's going on. I do like the assumption that anyone can be the killer because of what happened in the previous one, and that they probably did it because of either for a movie sequel, a new book, the influences of the previous killers, or they seen too many horror films again. Scream is an unpredictable sequel that I'm worried for what Scream 3 will bring from writer Ehren Kruger.
