He's one of the most disgusting characters I've ever seen portrayed on screen, yet all he does is lounge around like a slob with his cats and creepily watch his female neighbors. One of the weirdest things I've seen in a horror movie that has nothing to do with the murder storyline was the landlord (who is more of a supporting background character). Also, the killer's "reveal" comes across a little scooby-doo ish, but it fit the movie I suppose. It felt like the director's idea of "scary" was over the top screaming and hysterics. They could've toned it down. My only criticism is the acting from the aunt Annie and even the mother at times is a bit too much. It was very interesting approach to horror that I'm not used to seeing. Most horror directors will show everything so there's no questions in the end, but he deliberately misleads the audience so the "twist" at the end is shocking. I was on the edge of my seat most of the movie, and I especially like how the director Alfred Sole (who also wrote the book?) leaves alot of the guessing to the viewer. Apart from some hilariously overacted scenes, this is a very well made taut thriller. The eery mask and yellow raincoat imagery will forever be etched in my mind now. Wow

Brute Force is a must see. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama. Jules Dassan did a great job directing this movie. The screenplay is well written. Burt Lancaster and Hume Cronyn give wonderful performances. It is about a prisoner who plans to rebel against the chief guard. Brute Force is an intense film

erfect. Hilarious and unique . Perfect for what it is. People who hate on this movie probably take everything too seriously

You'd be hard pressed to find a scene in this movie where someone isn't naked. Where the movie fails is its plot holes and overused sex scenes. The acting is surprisingly good, and the story moves smoothly. Bully is intriguing, and the script is pretty razor sharp

Overall a good well done documentary. Bassically learn, learn, learn, from history, foreign history, our own people, and other people's perspective, people who already managed to understand and improve those problems we still having here in this country. And to learn from our mistakes and to start thinking what we are missing, and why and how to improve. It appeals to acknowledge our basic simmilitudes and needs as human beings. He brings another documentary that makes you think about your country in a whole different perspective and how we , as simple humans, start building a better nation. Americans are always thinking they are better than other nations. I really enjoyed the different scenarios the film shows of another countries, because those characteristics of those foreign people are features we didn't know before of them, and now we see the difference in our country to other nations, and that makes you think if our country is really as good as we say always. The idea is focusing in the concept and its meaning more than criticizing it because it is different. Maybe Michael Moore didnt want the audience to focus in production little details, It is like he wanted more to show a raw and easy going material that the audience could have couriosity about and understand it, and feel related to it. The final product is ok as it is. The film has its flaws, but the concept and its message are much better features to think about and focus on, than other things related with the film's production. Moore saying these things so directly is a lovable effort. This is nothing new, but having someone like M. The message is, that if an entire country wants to resolve a particular issue they need to be open to acknowledge new things and to change so they can get/have then enough experience to get to know how to resolve that issue. Because there's no perfect country, but there are countries that can be better than before, and so better than others in some factors/elements because they learned from different perspectives and nations. In other words the film invites you to take the most positive things of other nations and its people to learn from them. And that's ok. Michael Moore says that instead of focusing on our differences we can share our similitudes, or instead of focusing in aspects we don't like we should overcome/surpass them and focus in the positive ones, and that we shouldn't be afraid of our differences because every nation is different. That's the main point of this film. It says so in a very objective way , basically invites you to learn from each other regardless of your citizenship, culture, religion or gender. And precisely this documentary appeals to that idea, that we are all just people. I am awoman, but I am first a human being, like any other woman or men. user Adam W has the most disturbing comment by far. . Wow
