Jack G (ca) wrote: funny how they never mention Rear Window... ho ho. decent Argento doing his riff on Hitchcock, making De Palma look like an amateur in homage-ing by comparison. This is not always a good thing, especially since Argento is riffing himself off too (sound familiar - an average guy, the protahgonist, sees a murder take place, and instead of going to the police with his clues takes it upon himself to solve the crime(s), with some horrorfying results). In this case it helps that the filmmaker is making light of the guy at the start, as a child, being a voyeur, as it explains why he's such a dick in adult life. But it has its moments though, and some sexy women; the best sequence lacks the usual point-of-view approach from Argento, and is a chase scene in the rain at night that goes awry (think the scene where the car is rolling down the hill in Children of Men).

Lester Y (es) wrote: Inspired by the Manson family, fame through crime is the main theme. This was pretty fun, but clearly lacks the staying power and the shocking kick-in-the-taint effect of Pink Flamingos, but I am aware what an absurd standard I'm holding this movie to. The theme song is oddly catchy. This also might be the only place you could ever see Edith Massey topless, which Waters describes as "brave" and something he will never allow to be used by anyone else. You go enjoy that.

Nicholas L (de) wrote: The Dark Knight Rises is a rousing epic but it's plot line is shoddy and it's purpose is unclear. Neither is the villain as colorful or visceral as The Dark Knight's Joker.
Jordan B (us) wrote: This is a B-grade fantasy/action flick, and very enjoyable if you realize going in what you're in for. The graphics are inconsistent, sometimes very believeable, sometimes....not. It was kinda funny to see Timothy Dalton looking older, and to see Sean Bean in something other than Lord Of The Rings. (He was why I had wanted to see it when it was on TV originally...) Overall, not bad. Should satisfy anyone who wants an alternative to Disney...
