Chandler B (ru) wrote: A film like this can be forgiven for its melodramatic staging and mostly predictable plot. Its intent is to pluck at heart strings and it does that quite well. Moreover, it provokes an interesting examination of old vs. new China without passing simplistic, draconian judgment on either.

Kyle M (gb) wrote: Note: Coolio is in this movie for, I think, maybe, 10 seconds. Rumor has it he was paid with a bag of crack... Admittedly I have a soft spot for Brian Hooks movies. As you may or may not know, the man made over fifteen million acting in low-budget shit-fests like Chat Room, 3 Strikes, The Luau, and Soulplane. (Worst of which being Soulplane... fucking unwatchable)

Brian S (ag) wrote: Truly the scariest movie to have ever stared spiders. Arachnphobia prooves that you don't need a natural horror flick to be full of fancy effects and loads of blood to be good and chilling, cause this film doesn't have that much blood or cool monsters, but the script is solidly written and the acting and chracters are all great. And of course, with some very effective spiders that you shouldn't watch if you've got Arachnophobia. Recommended !!

Michael (mx) wrote: Not their finest hour, but somewhat enjoyable. The scene where Harpo sneezes is classic.
