Ugly Benny

Ugly Benny

Benny certainly wasn't much to look at when he first arrived as a puppy on the doorstep of the pet store. Sam and Emma found him waiting there in a little box when they arrived for work one morning, just staring up at them with those tiny, lovable little eyes, and to this day no one knows where he came from or who brought him there. He's growing up to be the smartest, cutest dog you are ever likely to meet. This is his adventure!

Doctor S (it) wrote: There's nothing categorically wrong with Dying Breed - it is competently directed and acted with a few tense moments - but there is nothing that distinguishes it either from the hundreds of young-adults-in-the-woods scenarios. That places it among Eden Lake territory rather than Blair Witch Project, or even the two films it stylistically reminded me of, The Descent and especially Wolf Creek. The characters do some *very* stupid things in this one though.

Haneef A (ru) wrote: War of the Worlds (2005) is directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning. It is based on an acclaimed science fiction novel by H.G. Wells. Cruise is a troubled father with some weaknesses...which make him interesting. He is forced to defend and take care of both his son and daughter when Northeast USA (and the world) are invaded by unknown forces. The acting is solid..with a young Fanning acting really well as the daughter with a perky attitude and a cameo by Tim Robbins as a troubled survivor. The camerawork is creative with incredible tracking shots (Spielberg as usual)...although the colour palette is too earthy and dark for my taste. The narrative is haunting and terrifying, and illustrates the depravity of humanity when confronted with crisis..but also the heroics of a troubled father. The ending is a bit anti-climactic and rushed, but still a solid movie all-around. An A- .

Indu R (ru) wrote: I thought this was a good war movie. The plot was great and cast was good. There was a good amount of action along with some good suspense in the end of the movie.

Dorianator F (ru) wrote: Okay movie. Billy Bob Thornton is great as usual. But the movie is pretty dumb. It's funny at times, but annoying at others.

Kristy P (ca) wrote: GAH!! Possibly the worst VanDamme movie ever. Very lame. And a horrid sex scene that made me dislike him for the rest of the movie.

Frdric I (nl) wrote: Un beau film (que je dcouvre) sur l'exigence, l'intransigeance artistique. Avec un Jean-Pierre Marielle au sommet de sa forme. A voir.

Tanner M (ru) wrote: A great prequel to the remake of the Texas chainsaw massacare! Tells a great story of how the Hewitts got where they were in the original remake. My only problem is they didn't have barely any suspense in the film.
