Sunil J (ca) wrote: There was a lot of interesting info in this one but it was a bit messy in how it was edited and it was kinda dull in parts. Worth watching but I was a lot more interested in Food Inc.

Ellamae B (br) wrote: Love the movie..its kinda like what's going on right now....with the water thats poison...really makes you think

Jeff M (jp) wrote: The best reason to see this is the uncredited star: Le Vercors (where I live). Lots of errors (why does she not have a car living so remotely, where is the fromagerie, there's not usually THAT much snow up here...), but the picture of life on a remote farm rings largely true. The real highlight is the opening shot in the Grand Goulets. That road is closed now, so this is the best way to see it.

Brian I (nl) wrote: Even if this was a rip-off of Conan, it would have been better but it wasn't. At least there was two nudie scenes

John L (it) wrote: This film is a *travesty* to the memory of the 47 Ronin and is an insult to the Japanese. It follows the a typical Hollywood arrogance and utter disrespect for another culture's legends that have solid historical documentation, as if it were a fictional fairy-tale to be rewritten at will. Little wonder that Japanese audiences soundly rejected it, and rightfully so. Hollywood tried to make it into a Japanese "Hobbit" movie with a witch, supernatural magical characters, and plot that doesn't even resemble historical events, other than Lord Asano committing seppuku for attacking Lord Kira, and his loyal ronin under the leadership of his former chamberlain, Oishi, exacting revenge on Lord Kira for having incited Asano's attack on him to precipitate his punishment. Everything else in between all that is utter fantasy. It's little wonder the top critics, who are much more likely to be familiar with the real story, also soundly rejected this movie. My recommendation:See the 1962 Japanese film, Chushingura, instead. It is much closer to the real events and is the most comprehensive post-WWII movie, presented in two parts due to its epic length. This Hollywood insult to well-documented Japanese history is thoroughly disgusting.

Donald Skull P (mx) wrote: Cute but stupid movie.

PJ P (kr) wrote: First class historical tale about a guy who allegedly returns to his wife and home after eight years as a soldier and wether he is who he claims to be or not. Wonderfully acted by Gerard Depardieu, and the detail looks fantastic. But, Miles Bethany, it's post medieval not medieval (he has seen native Brazilians in France) and if he was returning from the hundred years war he was returning about a century late.

Grant S (mx) wrote: Good, gritty prison drama. Good plot, based on a true story. Solid direction, though a bit cliched at times.Good performance by Robert Redford in the lead role. Decent supporting performances. Includes Morgan Freeman in one of his earliest roles.

Adam T (kr) wrote: Polanski's Chinatown is suitably vague and creepy with the Polish director's usual twisted psycho-sexual undercurrents.

Evan K (br) wrote: There is some decent moments in the film and some nice shots, but ultimately suffers from the acting and the script.

Barbara B (gb) wrote: Being human into the wild!

John B (es) wrote: Grant flips for untamable Hepburn in this snappy Cukor classic that feels entirely fresh despite its age. Grant's Johnny is the real New Deal, and Hepburn's Linda knows that her family's exorbitant, boring banking wealth can't buy her love. The only thing that stands in the way of their shared, wanton happiness? Johnny's engagement to Linda's high society sister.Everything is great in Holiday, from script to direction to performances. The under-appreciated Cukor strikes again.

Karsh D (jp) wrote: disappointing comedy drama as a manic depressive wins the lottery and buys her own TV chat show

Ethan U (de) wrote: good 90s movie. corny at times but not over the top. Tupac was a pretty good actor. He, and Belushi fit well together. good plot and decent acting from everyone
