Realizing Godzilla is attracted to nuclear and plasma power, all such power is now absent from Japan, but as he returns, a small egg comes through one of the test black holes. It soon hatches into a big assed flying mosquito. This has parallel universes, spaceships, alien bugs, human drama, and lots of destruction. There's even more obvious CGI for the swimming scenes, but it's nice to see the tradition of Godzilla is celebrated rather than parodied. A satisfactory entry.

David L (us) wrote: How the West Was Won has pretty imagery and great ending, but it is in the end an overblown spectacle which does not hold attention at all and the story does not have a purpose. It is, as with many generational films of this type, too long and very boring. An overrated movie.

The protagonistic quartet is lovely (including sweetheart Shirley MacLaine in her acting debut) and the movie ranges from macabre farce to suspenseful mystery. Not the definitive Hitchcock film but a pretty good one for sure.

However, it expertly describes the graft & scheme that political power truly is. I do hate the maternalist meme. That only via his wife does he suddenly care for poor people. We get some of the worst welfare state policies that way.
