The scene with the secret was effective, but could carry so much more weight if it was handled a bit differently. Jessica is a beautiful young girl and really stole the screen whenever she was on, it's obvious why that shot is on the poster. The scene at the end in the photo booth is quite fantastic. As is the scene between Gus and Kate. My biggest gripe is with the girl playing Christie... she was just terrible. But that's what happens when you're a low budge indie filmmaker who needs to cast his friends just to get actors.

Anna G (gb) wrote: Only could watch in black and white, which, I think improved the movie vastly. It added a continuous datum, as well as mild irony. That caveat spoken, it was enjoyable. I watched it a few times, to enjoy, but also to analyze. Of course, really would like to see it in color, too. Good sound track. Very good. A mixture of classical w/Nick Cave interlaced.

Stephen P (fr) wrote: Very interesting look into the effects heroin has on the people addicted to it. A very good documentary, where the main characters seemingly forget they're being followed by a camera crew

Rob F (es) wrote: My favourite of the three CGI crazy films. Great lightsabre battle at the end saves the slightly boring first half.

Nguyen Thuy H (es) wrote: Haynes took the structure straight from Citizen Kane but let's just say this is Haynes' Inland Empire, where narratives are repeatedly filtered through many sexual, pop-cultural and temporal glasses. This is the Citizen Kane for hippies (?), though I'm not sure whether it's accessible even to them. It's also too cynical, if not for the ending.

Michael W (ag) wrote: Buried beneath the cheesy romance and horrendous violence is political satire. The soldiers are all products of a brainwashed society where continuing the fight is what drives them. They don't think for themselves. They don't see their enemy as anything more than evil. They even are given a chance for redemption, but they don't learn anything. They continue the fight. In that manner, this is a very depressing film.

Funny, if not crude, over dubbing of the classic "Night of the Living Dead"

Vinnie F (br) wrote: (UPDATE as of Jan. 7th, 2017) It's been a few months after I've watched this movie and I've come to compare it to "little slices of life" films like Bambi and To Kill a Mockingbird and musically fun as Mary Poppins. I thought it was okay at first but looking back, I think it's pretty great, almost timeless and untouchable.

Leon B (br) wrote: Love this movie from start to finish, he was a legend and his legacy will never die

Tim P (nl) wrote: Decent biopic of someone I knew little about. Kingsley is great, but Gandhi is no Trevor Slattery.

Dann M (nl) wrote: Jigsaw may be dead, but his work continues on in Saw V. FBI agent Peter Strahm plays a deadly game of cat and mouse with police detective Mark Hoffman after coming to suspect that he was Jigsaw's accomplice; meanwhile 5 people fight for their lives in a maze full of death traps. The writing is really poor, as Strahm's investigation into Hoffman couldn't be more boring and the death maze segments seem completely disconnected from the rest of the film. Void of any suspense or thrills, Saw V is a pale imitation of what has come before.

Cedric L (nl) wrote: Powerfully acted drama that is also well-directed.
